[Rumor] iPad Mini Coming in October

Neat, so what do they mean by wallet friendly exactly? If it really is smaller then an iTouch (or can atleast fit in your pocket like a Vita or large phone) then that might actually be something to look at.

By "wallet friendly" I meant it'll cost less. Screen size is estimated at 7.85 in. That doesn't seem pocketable at all but still tablet sized.

The iPod Touch is already so small. How can an iPad mini be smaller?
Wouldn't an iPad mini just be an iPod Touch?

No, the iPad mini would be bigger than an iPod touch. What screen size does the Touch have, like 4"?
The iPad mini would be 7"-ish. So, it would be a "large" Touch. The same screen size as Kindle Fire and the Nexus 7.
It's not that pocketable.
...Why?

Actually it's half-half. It is iPod Touch 7. ;)

Inventing the iPad: "It's just a big iPod touch, isn't it?"

times are changing... samsung is rising with alongside android tablets ie. transformer prime and others
surely an important idea and the price has to be dropped esp for the tablet. if it were an iphone, then they don't need to worry alot about the price bcz its still up there.

and finally, this has been going around a lot like they showed the potential internal (leaked) cabling. so i think this is a strong rumor.

There are also reports of an internally redesigned iPad 3 to fix heating and charging issues, with a slightly lowered price due to changes in material. I'd like that, but I have no money and at this point I'd rather wait til March for the iPad 4 and jump on Apple's student financing program.

Oh, wow. That just flew over my head :P

Thanks for vlearing it up

The iPad is just a glorified Touch with 3G and LTE capability, there is nothing about it that makes it better then a Touch or an iPhone, so a Mini iPad just seems like a colossal waste of money if it doesn't have all the same features as the full sized iPad in a smaller form factor.

so this is appl$ feeble attempt to compete with the nexus 7

I don't think something like this could come from Apple. Apple's not really the type of company to make budget products.
Maybe a 7-inch one is likely(I still doubt it though) but I doubt it would be considered "budget", probably priced competitively. Kinda like the current iPad. It's priced like most other tablets of it's size.

By wallet friendly they mean that it will be friendly towards your wallet,as in cheap... derp

Isn't an iPad mini just an iPod touch? (Possibly with data capabilities?)

Why would they compete with a product that they're trying to ban anyways? Why waste even more money?

According to many online, the iPad mini is most likely going to retail at $299 (no cellular) and $349 (with cellular).
Many also speculate that iPad mini would be as low as $249 to compete with other 7 inchers.

Also,
Rumor has it that iPhone 5 will not pack an A5X chip and instead jumping to an A6 Quad Core processor.

Photos of the iPhone 5 logic board are inside, the words "A6" are quite faint.
It COULD be photoshop genius, so I'm counting this as a rumor.

Yeah, we already established that, but don't bother actually reading the topic...derp

An "iPad Mini" isn't just an iPod Touch. It has a larger screen at least and the rest of the details are just speculation.

And there's tons of budget tablets out there, Apple can't ban them all and the only way to win that market is to enter it.
