recently all my wiiware and vc games have failed to start up properly when launched from usb loader gx. I have gone through the settings time and time again and cannot find what's wrong. even channels that are on my real nand do the same thing. i select the title, launch it, but then the screen goes black and the wiimote loses connection. Most of the time it returns me to the homebrew channel.

nand emulation/saves are marked as ON
tried several cIOSs (currently using 249 on 56)
newest version of usb loader gx installed
pretty sure all my custom paths are set correctly (channels mostly display properly)
installed using built in wad installed and smw, neither work
fat32 partition in nand folder

hmmm...not much to say other than that. i recently wiped the folder and did a fresh nand transfer and wad install, but it does the same thing even after that.
any help or suggestions are appreciated

recently [...]
newest version of usb loader gx installed
Please, never say "newest" "latest" etc.

That's not useful, because there's EVERYDAY a possibility that a newer version than "your newer" you are using is released, and you would not have the newer anymore, confusing the users and developers in finding the problem and helping you.

Please, tell me which version or revision you are using (it's displayed in the credit page).

There's a lot of chance that it's not working anymore because I changed video mode behavior recently.
I asked that users test it and report anything wrong, but nobody tested it.

So, maybe you are using a beta, and beta are not stable release. maybe you found a bug.
But I need to know:

- which EXACT version/revision number of the loader you are using
- Which region is your Wii
- Which region is your Channel/game
- Which video mode is set in your Wii settings (are you using component, 480i, 480p?)
- Which video mode settings are you using in the Loader's setting?

beta are not stable, and users using beta are "beta testers". Beta testers need to report bugs to developers, not search help on forums because things don't work.
But without reports I can't fix anything, wondering the use of releasing beta versions to end users...

There's an official thread for USBloaderGX developement, help and user support.
But I also need that users are willing to help me, and test new version to tell me if the bug are fixed.

Firstly, I apologize for my lack of info and misuse of the forums. I would also like to thank you for your continued developement of this fantastic software.
I didn't want to be "that guy" and report this as an issue with the software because in my experience 99% of errors I've encountered have been my fault. i'm probably the worst beta tester ever.

usb loader gx v3.0 iOS 249 (rev 21). (d2x v9 beta (r49) base 56)
resolution is 480i. 4:3 aspect ratio. usbl gx is set to "use system default"
wii is ntsc. all my games are ntsc or region-free

i will try older versions of usb loader gx, and maybe cios. if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

thank you for your help and patience

[EDIT]

just as i suspected the software is fine, and i'm the one to blame. after messing around, i changed the dol path in the loader settings from my "root folder" to "/apps/usbloader_gx", and that did the trick. there was a dol in the root so i didn't want to mess with the default setting, but i guess the boot.dol in root is something else entirely.

hi,

Sorry for the way I answered to you :P
bad days for me (PC not working, etc.)

If you have v3.0 then it's the latest "official release", but not the latest available version of the loader.
There are newer beta version, that's why sayong "latest" is not very useful, there are two different "latest" :P

the boot.dol on the root of the Sd card is not used at all, it's not displayed in the homebrew channel and the forwarder doesn't use it either.
The loader always need to be placed in apps/

If it dixed your problem, then it's fine :)

This solution didn't work for me and my specifications are pretty much exactly like yours.

I had the similar happening to me and was at my wits end until I remembered that I had reformatted my HD I used for NAND stuff also for DM. For some reason NAND emulation didn't seem to like the drive settings - 32kb sectors etc. I fixed the problem by transfering my emuNAND to my SD card, which worked perfectly.

Havent yet tested with most recent Loader GX beta though, this happened with released Loader GX 3.

/edit
with Loader GX r1200 the NAND emulation works ok from my HDD again
