Utilizing the Yoshi Magic editor, I have created several difficulty hacks for Mario & Luigi SSS. For more info, read the included FAQ;

FAQ Download: http://www.mediafire...rm20pi7sax35dg6

Mario & Luigi SSS Classic Mode(Same as original but removed OCD crap): http://www.mediafire...31h5qqp9c5qv7ph
Mario & Luigi SSS Classic Critical Mode: http://www.mediafire...e9d9feictgdh9bd
Mario & Luigi SSS Hardcore Mode: http://www.mediafire...rj5cg73r1it62c6
Mario & Luigi SSS Hardcore Critical Mode: http://www.mediafire...5sw79oed80fe3nv

Each ROM has its own save states and save files, thankfully.

Here's a link to my completed Hardcore playthrough on Youtube: http://www.youtube.c...eature=view_all

The playthrough demonstrates the changes to bosses & enemies, minor dialogue changes, as well as other misc. stuff. I couldn't record the final boss unfortunately, but I decided to give it a nerf to make it more equal to Bowletta. Hope you understand, Critical Mode removes regular stat gains for every stat but HP and BP(Which receive reduced gains), meaning the only way the player can gain stats is via bonus wheel and/or starbean blends. Since you'll need quite a few blends, I've changed a couple of enemy item drops so that Hoo, Hee, and Chuckle beans can be obtained from enemies scattered around Beanbean Field. Here's a list;

Troopea/ParaTroopa = Chuckle Bean
Lakipea/Tanoomba = Hee Bean
Sharpea/Sworm = Hoo Bean
Beanie/ParaBeanie = Woo Bean

I appreciate any and all feedback.

EDIT: Patches are up, courtesy of Bent. Thanks!

EDIT: I decided to pick my favorite video from the playthrough and post it here for all;

However much i enjoy your hacks, are they already patched into the ROM? I dont know if you read the rules or not (oh wait you just did cause your a member now) but you cant host or link to roms here. You need to take those down. ASAP.

Huh, I would think that it would be allowed on a forum such as this.

Well, how do I distribute the roms then? PM?
could you give me the tool that you used?
It's called Yoshi Magic. Good luck making your own edits, though, since it took me the whole of this month just to balance MLSSS Hardcore, and I'm not 100% that it's perfect even.

Huh, I would think that it would be enough to think that new members would read the rules when joining a forum such as this.
Welcome, and thank you for using proper grammer and such.
You may talk about them but no actually linking or telling how to get one.
You need to make the patch available without the rom. I dont know if thats possible with Yoshi Magic.

Well no, the changes are saved to the ROM itself, hence why there's one ROM per "mode".

And I've lurked on this forum before, and could have sworn there were ROM links posted at some point. I guess I was mistaken.

Just make a patch. Download xdelta from xdelta.org, take your original rom and your patched rom, and in a command line type:

xdelta3.exe -e -s original_rom.gba patched_rom.gba patch_file.xdelta

Then all you need to distribute is the xdelta patch file. Users can patch their own original rom.

EDIT: :ninja: 'd

Eh... I've never had much luck with the cmd function. I'll give it a try, I suppose. Still don't see why, on a forum about hacking, posting roms isn't allowed.

Just as I figured, this is just not working for me. Could someone else more proficient with xDelta make the patches for me? If they take up less space than the ROMs, that would be great and I'll upload them to MediaFire ASAP.

The name GBAtemp has stuck with the site since it's beginnings in 2002. It is composed of two parts; GBA of course stands for Game Boy Advance. The temp is short for temporary. At the time of the website opening it was a ROM site and provided downloads to the latest 10 GBA releases. As ROM sites usually had a very small life expectancy before they ran into legal trouble and were shut down the website was therefore designed as a 'temporary' ROM site. Hence "GBAtemp". Although the focus of the website is no longer primarily on GBA but instead Nintendo DS and Wii, site staff have remained adamant about changing the name of the website. The name GBAtemp reflects the website's identity and humble beginnings. There will never be a name change.

Well I like the name GBATemp, for what it's worth.

Anyways, Bent is working on the patches, though it looks like a small group of people have already downloaded the ROMS... thanks! lol

Part of the reason people seem so critical about users that link to or ask for ROMs is because when you sign up for the forum you have to literally type "there are no ROMs on GBAtemp" in the signup page.
Actually, when I registered I was shown a picture and was asked "What colors aren't present?".

I don't even recall a question regarding ROMs, otherwise this topic probaly would have been handled differently.

Well, then, you obviously didn't read the rules when creating an account. And no, you are not allowed to PM people links to roms either. There is no distribution of copyrighted materials of any kind on this site.

Good thing Bent managed to get the patches made. People can just download those, hopefully. They also take up much less space.

Well take down the roms, in the mean time. Anyways i like the name too, i was just showing why we dont have roms. Because rom sites have short lifespans.

Oh shit, when did that change...
Dude its been soooo long since ive registered, i have no idea.
