With most of the Skyrim hype dying down, I've finally been bitten by the TES bug again and begun craving open-world roleplay. At the moment there's no way I'm paying $50 for Skyrim, but I've never played Oblivion before. It was an easy choice for me to pick it up last week. Since my hundreds of hours spent in Morrowind I had forgotten just how damn glitchy these games tend to be. I've already experienced a number of problems in Oblivion, and I've taken to saving every time I make any sort of decision.

Some of the glitches are quite amusing, though.
And I want to know about the best ones you've found in your travels through Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.

Try to keep spoilers to a minimum, or use spoiler tags where necessary.

One of my saves on xbox was effected by a bug where whenever something was paralyzed they would just melt like they had no bones. I combined this with that one beer in the storage room of frostcrag spire for some good times. Speaking of Frostcrag spire I loved the glitch that allowed console users to get to a test cell containing the mace of doom.
Also I love the dupe glitch and all the other glitches that come with it (infinite money unlimited stats...etc).

That was all in oblivion, as far as Skyrim goes glitches have been more of a pain in the ass then funny, I couldn't beat the story till a few months after it came out due to a quest state bug.

Oblivion: using the duplicating glitch with a Speechcraft Green Brocade Doublet produces amusing results.

Sometimes when I leave a building, all of the children from the city will rain down from the sky... and begin playing tag.

I've slain dragons, giants, and ghosts... but that? That frightens me.

The paintbrushes in TES4 didn't have any physics properties, so you could use them as portable floating platforms. There was also no collision at the top of the Imperial City Temple, so if you used paintbrushes to reach the top and fall through, you would find a glitched door halfway through the ground that would skip to near the end of the main questline.

One of my saves on xbox ....Speaking of Frostcrag spire...

You know until now I didn't realize frostcrag was available on xbox.
Off to Bing where I can get free MS points for using their crappy search engine!

Oblivion: using the duplicating glitch with a Speechcraft Green Brocade Doublet produces amusing results.

Go on. What happens?

Sometimes when I leave a building, all of the children from the city will rain down from the sky... and begin playing tag.

I've slain dragons, giants, and ghosts... but that? That frightens me.

....are you serious? That actually would be a bit freaky.

...You know, as buggy as it was in general, I can't think of anything that went terribly wrong in Oblivion that wasn't a mod-related issue, and really, nothing at all on the Xbox version. I've never had anything really interesting happen with Skyrim, either, although I just started like a week ago, after all the really bad stuff was patched out. I've had a few NPCs spawn without proper clothing in both games, though, and the physics fail when you get clubbed by a giant in Skyrim is always amusing. It's been too long since I've played Morrowind to recall much in the way of glitches.

As far as uncool glitches go, I've got a few items that are bugged from bugged quests or bad quest progression that are forever stuck as undroppable quest items in Skyrim, namely the Necromancer's Amulet. I've also noticed Skyrim tends to lock up a lot more than Oblivion, but not nearly as much as Fallout 3.

have a bunch of flagged quest items that I cant drop even though the quests are long done, mainly books and misc items, some quest item glitches like in a night to remember if you pick up the trash in the temple after passing the speech check these common items will forever be stuck and they stack with any other picked up items making none of them dropable (its been patched now)
only good thing is flagged quest items dont weigh anything

some of the nordic puzzle doors are glitched, every possible combination will not open them, Ive encountered 3 but I bypassed them using another glitch (an actual useful one) when you can clip through walls/doors by holding a platter/plate against a wall and running into it

theres also the oghma infinium glitch which allows you to max out all your levels as well as the various farming skills glitches

Quite serious. As if the kids in the game weren't bad enough, already, now they rain down from the sky!

At first I thought it had to be related to some sort of Daedra quest... now that could've been interesting.

10 to 1 its Sheogorath that does it. You may recall similar incidents in the past.

Also the kids are creepy, they have been ever since fallout 3. There's something not quite right about a bunch of immortal kids that all sound and look the same running around nonchalantly in through post apocalyptic dc, or dragon infested Skyrim. (Might as well bring up fallout, it is basically oblivion with guns.)

I very much disagree with that assessment, although I do enjoy that they imported the killcams and improved lockpicking system from Fallout 3 into Skyrim.

As for kids raining from the sky, it sounds like the game's forgotten how some NPCs should be loaded. I'm finding that when I fast travel into or wait inside a town, more and more often the game loads NPCs by having everyone but the guards (who always seem to load properly) exit from one building into the scene pretty much all at once.

I once found a child belonging in Whiterun, literally miles from his home, in a falmer cave. The falmer started attacking him, and he starting rubber banding all over the place like the Elastic Man on speed. It was more freaky than funny.

Oh, and then there's the classic "dragon bones" glitch where if you kill a dragon, absorb the soul, and then hit it with certain spells, it will fly off into the distance like it were made of Styrofoam. It made me quite giggly the first time I found that.

I love when Lydia disappears randomly throughout dungeons for me. Like I was going through a swinging axe corridor and Lydia, being the retard that she is, bolts after me (I forgot to tell her to stay). Instead of stumbling to the ground, she gets pushed through the wall by one of the axes. So I continue on, complete the dungeon, and eventually get back to the entrance. And she's just fucking waiting there. Thanks Lydia, you've been a great help.

Also there's another glitch where if I'm about to kill someone with an arrow, it goes into the killcam mode. Which is normal, except my target gets stunned (I have the "15% chance to stun with bows" perk) before the arrow even connects, so they go stiff, fall down, and my arrow misses. What a pain. Happens plenty of times.

For whatever reason, Whenever a giant hits me, and I get sent sky high, I fly up into the air, hit some invisible barrier and then half my body disappears.
Theres also a glitch where if I search this barrel inside the thieves guild, then go to walk outside, I begin falling into an endless abyss.
But then again, my whole save is just glitched to shit in general.

Vidded it months ago actually, the upload date on YT is misleading since I took all videos off my acc, deleted it, then made another under this name and reuploaded all of the videos.

Exploding brocade doublets, awesome!
(I actually found out few months after recording this that the quality setting on Camstudio wasn't on 100%, so everytime I've been using Camstudio I was losing video quality for no reason.)

Was playing some Skyrim a little bit ago on a new save on my 360 and, as you're escaping the keep in the tunnels and such, there's a gate that opens up (^^) and I was running into when it took me with it, pushing me into the wall of the dungeon. Couldn't continue after that, had to restart.

Along with the launching the dragon bones thing I managed to get one stuck in a gate when I played a while back. I think I have a screenshot available somewhere, but I'd have to look.

I sometimes glitch inbetween rocks and get stuck in rocks I can't escape from.
Forcing me to go back a few save files -_-
Some could say I get stuck between a rock and a hard place.
