Why's the 3DSXL so expensive in America and Japan? You can get one here for like 200€.
(The prices from playasia seem quite expensive to me..)

200€ = $246 USD. 3DS only costs $200 USD in America, so it's cheaper here.

They haven't refunded me for the shipping or anything. I don't really care about that, as long as I get the product.

I don't think they are going to refund the shipping charge, I think they just upgraded it to faster shipping without an additional charge.

Play-Asia is known to be more expensive, especially Japanese games.

Looking at the pictures of the white version makes me wish the US had gone with a different color scheme. The blue/black and red/black look so Fisher Price when compared to the all white. An all black system would have been a good look as well.

I agree. Red and blue are good colors... just not the shades they chose (I guess shades is the right word).

The white looks amazing, and the gray/black one looks really good too.

I was going to wait for a special edition of the XL to come out, but $183 was too good to pass up.

I'm so pissed that the white is exclusive to Japan! I was waiting all this time for a new 3DS and then it gets released with gimmicky colors?! Why must it be TWO colors?! I can't wait to buy a 3DS XL but I might wait for the white one, it just looks beautiful.

I shipped my 3DS LL for US$267.45 and I think that $67 is worth not for the color, but the amount of content Japan has to offer.

Of course, if you don't know much Japanese then it's somewhat pointless. However the JP eShop contents really blow the US out of the water.

Nope sadly I don't know any japanese, and probably the eShop games will cost a lot. Now I'm more angry with Nintendo, they are selling the 3DS for 270$ over here! And its a standard American 3DS XL with a box that says "MIDDLE EAST VERSION".
I guess I'll have to order my 3DS online, anyone knows any good site that sells 3DS XL and ships world wide? Would really be greatful if someone can provide me with such site!

Not really. Pushmo is ¥700, Dillion's is ¥1,000. It's not too far apart. There are freaking lot of demos in the JP eShop, I think there are more than 10.

Play-Asia is probably your best choice if you want an English version (US/EU) set, but it's definitely more than $270 with shipping.

I think that is either verifying payment or preparing to ship.

Some other impressions:

1. DS games look a lot better on the new console compared to original in stretched mode. I think the lower pixel density and wider screen area plays a huge part. Of course, when compared to a DSi XL it isn't as good, but it isn't as blocky too.

2. Native resolution DS mode makes it slightly bigger than DSi size. However I prefer stretched mode as the screens are at their "natural" size. They don't look too bad either.

3. The set is all curvy and the control layout is fantastic. I haven't got any cramps/shit so far. The original made my hands hurt after 45 minutes of 3D Land.

Thanks for all the feedback on your LL. It was really helpful since most of the reviews just say it is much better than the orignal with no specific details.

I e-mailed them and they said they expect them on the 22nd. I'm honestly not sure if I believe them. I really think it will either take a month, or they will cancel the order. I'm probably going to cancel my order tonight and just pick it up somewhere that has launch week promo for a free item, like Best Buy or Toys R Us.

Btw just finished my FIRST round of battery juice.

Played about 5 hours of DS content, 3 hours of 3DS content (mostly with 3D on, wireless off) before battery turned red from full. Brightness 2 or 3 depending on time, power saving off.

Overall, quite a leap from original. The original would turn red just after ~6 hours of DS OR 3.5 hours of 3DS content at Brightness level 2, power saving ON, wireless ON, 3D OFF.

Considering that this battery has to power two XL screens and has a much larger strain on the backlight, I'm quite impressed.

So did the company end up being losers? They told me they expected to have them in stock yesterday. I cancelled my order last week though.
