The Last Guardian being delayed due to Technical Issues

The Last Guardian as been a game that many Ico and Shadow of Colossus fans have been anticipating since its announcement under the name Project Trico back in 2009. According to Shuhei Yoshida, the Sony Worldwide Studios head, in an interview with Eurogamer said the Team Ico development team is facing technical issues. Yoshida stated that even parts that have already been completed have been completely re-done. With this news is seems like The Last Guardian will soon join the ranks along Final Fantasy Versus XIII in which fans having been waiting since 2006 for it to be released. To end on a good note, Yoshida mentioned that the game was still being developed for the PS3.

I concur. a good game shouldn't be made with compromises in mind. I'd gladly take this as a next gen launch game

At TGS 2010 Team ICO said we would see a 2011 release. It's 2012 now.

Simply because of the massive scale of the game and advanced AI, it's understandable to think that the technical issues might be a result of the PS3 hardware. Not confirmed of course.
