I have big hangs and like bigger screens to I think the XL will be a better fit. I do worry about sharpness. Does the XL stretch the image and make it look degraded? How do DS games look on it? Would my DSTWO card work on the XL for sure?

I suggest next time you look at other threads about the 3DS XL first before asking these questions, there are enough of those already.
The 3DS XL has the exact same firmware as the 3DS so if your card works on the 3DS it will work on the XL.
If you don't know if it works on a 3DS either: http://gbatemp.net/topic/302773-firmware-update-compilation-thread/

Yes, the image is stretched, but just a little blurry sometimes, apparently it's not like it looks worse.
I don't know about DS games, since I don't have a XL, again I refer to previous threads.

DS games fill up the bottom screen completely, and then the top is matched to the bottom screen. you can also play in the original resolution, which looks better than it did on the original 3DS according to some people.

Nothing really looks worse with the "zoomed" games.
It's like playing with a GBA magnifier. (well not rlly but kind of anyway, Everything just get bigger)

3DS games look about the same as on original because the screen size naturally increases the viewing distance, so it's not really a big deal.
Unless you look very close, the sharpness is hardly affected.

DS games look a lot more natural on 3DS XL than on 3DS when stretched. The original resolution mode makes the games playable on a size at a size of the DSi, which is quite acceptable.

Have you seen the difference between OoT3D on the original 3DS and the 3DS XL?! That is a big deal, a huge difference, at first I assumed it wouldn't be much of a difference as well, but when having tried the two, the difference is very much in favor of the XL!

What I mean is sharpness/pixelation. I tried it on MH3G, Hatsune Miku, Dead or Alive and all 3 look marvelous on the new console.
