I have iso files of Medal of Honor Heroes and SOCOM Fireteam Bravo, each downloaded from multiple sources, which have dealt with freezing issues. What happens is I attempt to click on the campaign mode button, the game proceeds to freeze for a second or two, and I am left in the same menu. What could be the possible explanation for this. Every other game I attempt to start works fine.

PS: I have 6.60 pro temp firmware.

It must be the ISO driver. Press 'select' to open the VSH menu and try changing the ISO driver.

Don't have access to my PSP now but are you referring to changing from say inferno to m33? Because I tried that and it didnt help.
Try the Sony NP9600 driver. Which version of PRO are you using? If you are using PRO C and have ISO cache enabled, try disabling it.

Use a decent memory stick and not a fake or an adapter.

Its PRO C and I tried disabling ISO cache, and that didnt help. Also I'm not using a cheap memory stick. I'm using this genuine Sony 16 gig bought off amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-PRO-HG-Memory-Stick-MSHX16A/dp/B003F8UWV6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345029984&sr=8-1&keywords=Sony+16+GB+PRO-HG+Duo+HX+Memory+Stick+MSHX16A

Also its a problem thats getting worse. I played Ape Escape for the first time in a month and suddenly I started to deal with the same freezing issue. This wasnt a problem with Ape Escape the last time I played it. Is there anything else I can do in terms of editing settings for the PSP, or altering the memory stick using some sort of program.

Sold by Everything But Stromboli. If you go into the Memory Stick menu in the XMB and hit the Triangle button is it Magic Gate supported or Unknown? Can you run a speed test on it? (PSXReality preferably)

It is magic gate supported. is there some sort of program that can scan the memory stick and fix whatever errors the memory stick may have?

Your PSP.

alright i just formatted and tried playing socom again and the same freezing problem occurred. are there any other ideas in terms of solutions? i'm just confused as to why some games work perfectly and others deal with this freezing issue. considering that i've downloaded the same game from multiple sources, the rip isnt the problem.

Why not try another memory stick? Seems the most logical next step.

I'd try using PRO-B 6.39(in my case, downgrading fixed some stuff!) or 6.60 PRO-B. Format memory stick, re-install CFW then try. A friend of mine has a computer with RAM issues which will mess up any rar/zip/7z compressed file you may retrieve from internet. Most data downloaded from there is bound to be corrupted but plaintext'd data like ISOs.

What if you use another computer to "find" those games you try to run?
