Hacking Dragon Quest IX Xenom R4 cheat problems

A question to all those playing DQ IX. I am running R4 Wood 1.10 and I have the Xenon patched DQ IX rom as well as the newest cheat database. With R4cce, I changed the rom ID to match the Xenon version (YDQE - 6692DAD2) so I could activate (and enable) the codes. However, only the Gold cheat seems to be working; other cheats like x2 exp (etc.) don't work for me at this moment. Also, I have to activate the cheats using R4cce because using the cheat menu in the Wood firmware doesn't work (the cheats don't "stick"). Is there something I am missing? Thanks.

I need help, I'm using R4 wood 1.17 and i want to use cheats for Dragon Quest IX. I go on the game click Y and there's a cheat button, I click it but nothing happens. Please Help me

1). Update to Wood 1.19
2). Update your Cheat Database
3). Ensure your game is a CLEAN dump, not Xenom hack/crack version

ok for the wood r4 you might have to enable cheats (pressing start and going down to settings. then click the R button 3 times and turn on Cheat in Game(AR) so it will let you use cheats.) and your cheat.dat or usrcheat.dat has to go in the right place ( open the _rpg folder then goto cheats and place it in there) also there are cheats to the Xenom rom i have 22 working codes.
