Its like those collection machine u see everywhere like keychains etc, just that this time its arcade combine to make it more intense and the chance to actually get nothing and having to pay another 100 yen each pokemon.... smart move

seems like you get a trainer card and maybe "buy" some starter pokemon and than pay some money to "search" new pokemon and fight/catch them to get this "card" or whatever it is you can collect and or use ..

like some sort of TCG only that you do not buy booster packs but pay for that machine to battle pokemon and maybe catch them oO

looks interesting but ~1€ for 1 battle is expensive ... and depending of you beeing able to catch one poke every time or not it might get very very very expensive to get them all XD (even if you get one each time i believe you need many tries to get all oO)

(i don't think there is much "background" you have your trainer card and try to get all Pokemon XD)

agreed from what it looks like... no story just str8 fighter game for the little cards
looks to be more like a mix of the tcg and Colosseum

Looks like this thing will stay in Japan.
Well thats mainly because the arcade scene is pretty much dead in the u.s sadly :/ although they could possibly put these in movie theatres/malls and still bring attention.
yeah cause if i saw one id drop a buck in it just to play n get a card or 2 lol

We might see a WiiU version cuz the controller has the scan-objects thing. And might work with it. But you'll have to buy the Pokemon pretty much like Skylanders.

looks like an odd way to see some of the pokemon in 3d... and a money sucker out of your pockets also.
