I have a NAS device that I store all my games on. To try simplify the process of copying the games from my NAS to my Wii's USB drive, I downloaded and compiled the source code for Wiimm's ISO tools. The program appears to be running fine, not outputting any errors, but the games do not show up in the latest Wiiflow or Configurable USB Loader.

The command I'm using to convert the games is as follows:

wit --progress CP --wbfs --split game.iso usb1/wbfs

After the process runs, checking the wbfs folder shows that the files are present. Am I missing something important to get this files to show up in backup loaders?

I don't think you'r missing something in your command.
Try analysig the resulting files on your pc with wit.
Perhaps your compile does not work right. I don't think wit was tested in an non-x86 or low mem evironment.
NAS sounds suspiciosly of both.

Thanks for the quick reply, my NAS is a 2Ghz Marvell Kirkwood ARMv5 CPU, though memory is good at 512MB. I'll see if I can run some tests, I'm still figuring out all the WIT commands.

There should be no reason to use WIT unless the ISO's are stored on the NAS decompressed.

If you are running a WBFS filesystem on your HDD, convert it to NTFS. A simple file copy will do after that.

They are decompressed, and my Wii drive is FAT32 because I have homebrew apps stored on it (which don't all support NTFS). The output from wit VERIFY is as follows:

+OK .0 UPDATE SOJP41 Rayman Origins.wbfs
+OK .1 DATA SOJP41 Rayman Origins.wbfs

So it looks like there's no problem with the files... I've tried with Rayman Origins and a couple of others with no luck, though. I've also tried clearing the entire Wiiflow configuration.

edit wait, is that update partition supposed to be there?

I think its the filename
try /wbfs/SOJP41.wbfs instead
there are nicer variants but that one is easiest
if it works I look how I get my names from wit

Renaming it worked. Rayman Origins [SOJP41].wbfs worked fine, I always thought it listed them by extension. Thanks!

Is there an option for WIT to use a specific naming convention?

use "usb1/wbfs/%X" as the target path instead to get the version you used above
see http://wit.wiimm.de/info/iso-images.html#write for more options
unfortunatly having wit create dirs does not seem to work anymore
because liked "%Y/%+" which got me "Rayman Origins [SOJP41]/SOJP41.wbfs"

Thanks, that's really useful. Now I can start work on a web front end so that my gf doesn't have to learn all this stuff :-)

Yes, PsyBlade has right. I test only on 386 machines, but I known about running compilations for different NAS.
Since v2.03 the tools need more memory. Give v2.02 (svn release 3240) a chance.

EIDT: Now I read the complete thread ... well done.
