So I just ordered an R4i Gold and while I wait for it, what are some of you guys's favorite nds homebrew? Or what are some good sites for homebrew? I've searched a bit but haven't really come across much.

Both DS-Scene's Download Area and GBATemp's FileTrip are brimming with NDS homebrew - it's a click away.

It's sad how the 3DS hacking section became a place to talk about DS stuff.
Granted, there's only a small selection of 3DS tools currently, but still.

Agree. Just download some of the apps and try them yourself.

I didn't realize there was a homebrew section. The hacking & HOMEBREW section is the one I usually go to.

Well if there was ANY 3ds hacking to talk about it would be used for that. I think most people talk about it in the 3ds section because they're using the 3ds and if they talked about it in the DS section people would assume they were using a DS/Lite/Dsi.

Bobbyloujo thanks I'll check that out.

It's not like it matters, though. DS homebrew only runs in DS mode, the same way it runs on a DSi, the way it natively runs on a DS, even if it's being run on a 3DS. (Edit: so, just to clarify, whether you're running DS homebrew on a DS/Lite, DSi/XL, or 3DS, if it runs it's going to run the same way, because it's going to be run natively (DS/Lite) or in (native) DS mode (DSi/XL/3DS). That is why it doesn't matter. And since nothing past the Lite has a SLOT-2, if someone asks how to get their 3in1 running on their 3DS they might be deserving of a firm pimp smack lol)

Just making a general point, nothing directly against you posting this question where you posted it. When the 3DS gets more homebrew/headway in hacking, the section will clear out a bit since there will be more 3DS specific stuff in there. Just sayin.

Multiple messages saying it's not the correct section but nobody thought about reporting it so a mod can place it in the correct section?
Remember that the report button is not only when the user is breaking the rules, it's used to help moderators maintaining the forum.

I'm moving it to NDS homebrew.

The best DS Homebrewgemes at my opinion are colors!DS, DSCraft, Scribblejump and Moonshell, Marble jump, everlasting and warcraft.

Wrong! The colors! touch sensitive function only works with the DS fat and the DS lite.

Haven't tested this and don't have the time to right now, but this is likely because the 3DS's pressure sensitivity isn't getting passed through, or doesn't exist. It's possible that they removed the pressure sensitivity from the 3DS's touchscreen after no DS games used it at all. Also, like I said, I have very little time, so I can't look up right now if that's even true.

Edit: in that case, the game is still running the same, yet it's just not receiving a variable like it usually does, it's being passed a constant instead.

Thanks for one of the ONLY on topic replies! Ill check it out.

So just to clarify, homebrew talk isnt allowed in a section with the word in the name even though there are dozens of posts about homebrew currently in said section. Makes total sense. [/sarcasm]

No, the point is that discussion of DS homebrew belongs in the DS Emulation and Homebrew section, not the 3DS Hacking and Homebrew section.

And his reply was hardly on topic. You asked what good homebrew/homebrew sites were, not what homebrew doesn't pick up the 3DS's pressure sensitivity.

I was reffering to his comment about which homebrew he likes, which is more on topic than your replies. What is it with forums these days, its likea any excuse to flame people, and for what? I just asked a simple question, trying to start a friendly conversation about what homebrew people are playing and people lose their minds about it. Also fiy theres not very much homebrew listed in that gbatemp post linked to above.

Filetrip is, believe it or not, a sister site of GBATemp. So much of the stuff you'll find there is from people here.

Make sure you look at any of the other categories on the top navigation bar, whether it's other types of files for the DS, or stuff for other systems even.

I'm a huge fan of emulation, so my normal recommendations would be things like SNEmulDS, NES DS, Lameboy, jEnesisDS, and stuff like that.

If you like rhythm games, give AmplituDS a try, quite different than the normal DDR-type games you might be expecting. If you like things like Crayon Physics, look into (I think it's called) DSPhysics. If you have a DS Phat or DS Lite, look into Colors! DS because it has pressure sensitivity (later turned into an actual commercial game which is why development on it abruptly stopped).

And of course there are the media players like Moonshell that can play audio and (converted) video, but I don't think I need to go into that.
