We have just a few details on .hack Versus, the PlayStation 3 .hack game that's being bundled with the Blu-ray release of .hack//Sekai no Mukou ni.

Famitsu reveals this week that the game is an action fighter. Screens in the magazine show a perspective similar to the Naruto fighting games -- which wouldn't be too surprising considering developer CyberConnect2 makes those games too. Aside from that, gameplay details and cast count will have to wait.
The game will have 3D support. This is also fitting, as CyberConnect2 made a big fuss about the use of 3D in the Sekai no Mukou ni flick.
.hack Sekai no Mukou ni + Versus Hybrid Pack will be released on June 28. The standard version is priced ¥7,140. Namco Bandai will also release a limited edition, priced ¥10,500.

Holy Shit. Those graphics are fucking amazing for a cartoon style. Moreover, it is a new story or just a continuation of the previous ones?

From the looks of it, it might be a new The World seeing as the cast behind their player character are obviously too young. Then in this case it should be a new story.

All i can say about .hack is: LOCALIZE THIS AND /LINK

Since the PSP is about to die over here in the States, I highly doubt a possible localization for LINK now, unless they port it to Vita or something.

I love .Hack games and I own all of them for the PS2 (even imported G.U. from the USA), however, I'm not so sure about this one... I love .Hack games because they're pretty unique RPG's, however this one won't be an RPG and it has characters from both the other Worlds, I saw Kite from the original and Haseo from R2, if that Kite is simply just another similar player character then that's sad... Also, Hase seems to be a bad guy there, although he still has his Avatar Skeith, so it must be the real Haseo... I will eventually get this game if it get's localised, I just hope the story won't be as messed up as I'm thinking it is.

I think it's just because it's a .hack/ fighting game, with characters from all the games just fighting. Probably won't have any kind of story in it. Just...a fighting game.
