Hacking Hacking the Disc Channel

I didn't realize the files had different names, and I already had 4.1U extracted.

yeah its quite odd really up till 3.4 the pal file was named the same as the ntsc version
but after 4.0 they changed the name however the ntsc and pal files are practically identical

Maybe this is the only thing we need to do besides hiding it.

This is not about the theme, It can be any other theme. I respect everybody's taste but liking or disliking the theme is not the issue, just showing how the "Disc channel" which is not really a channel (since it's part of the SM) can be treated almost like any other channel.

It's really a combination of different threads (all are linked) I tried to summarize many things in just one post.
I'll update with the missing info about "Disc Channel" rename/hide/delete stuff when more testing is done.

which ash file are you talking about (didn't find it in iplsettings)?

No one said in an ASH. Just inside the extracted APP, go into those folders.

Probably use the same number of letters. You can probably pad it with 00 bytes if you want it shorter. Don't make it longer.

Worked fine spaces are allowed too for shorter title (I hope there's a way to make it longer though)

you can make the strings up to 0x100 bytes i think. but you have to recreate the bmg file and move all the other string offsets back in the INF1 section.

Convince XFlak to add Poc's hack to ModMii (ModMii can then offer custom themes for the channel and custom wads for Poc's hidden channels - sky is the limit)

Give up on that idea. It's not going to happen. XFlak and I already talked about it on the phone for about a good 15 minutes and weighed the pros and cons and in the end we both agreed it is just not worth it to add it in to modmii for the 1 or 2 people who would use it. So you might as well remove that from your post.

And adding Poc's hack to modmii? Wont happen, as Deadly already said. Too much work for the 1 person (you) who wants it.

Another thing that bothers me - you seem to be referring to the hack as if "Poc" is the name of the hack - it is not. PoC is an abbreviation for Proof of Concept. It is not specific to this hack, it is a generic term and generic abbreviation.
