Hardware Recharging an SP battery without a Cable

Hey guys, I'm about to do mod my Gameboy Color with a frontlight, but in addition, I'm going to be placing the battery housing with a Gameboy Advance SP's battery. After I've got the battery installed, I was wondering if there was a way to charge the battery without removing it from the Gameboy Color. I'm not sure if there's a way to have the SP's charging input inside the Color as well as the battery, but if anyone knows of a solution for this, I'd appreciate the help.

1. Drill hole in the side.
2. Install standard miniUSB slot.
3. Connect the + and - to the battery pins.
4. Charge with standard USB chargers (same voltage as far as I remember, but do check beforehand)
5. Battery charges ---> Battery discharges into the GBC

Just remember to connect it correctly - you don't want to sum up voltages!

The charging circuit is inside the SP, lol. Of course you can overload your battery (it shouldn't explode though unless he REALLY overloads it). If you want to do it right then you need to solder up a charging circuit that will shut off when the battery's full. There are instructables online. I just thought he meant a "quick charge".

It'd need an average Li-Ion cell charging circuit board, really. Nothing fancy, circuit schematics float all around the web for those and the board itself would be small enough to fit the battery compartment.

If you're lazy, you can actually recycle a Li-Ion battery charger for a board instead of making one.

Should be sufficient.
