I have a softmodded wii version 4.3u

I have usb loader and an sd card. I don't know what I need to do. Can someone give me a link to a guide or give me some downloads? All I want to do is play windwaker and foursword adventures (download links for these games?), so if you can help me get that set up then please do.

thanks

Google --> Type "Dios Mios Lite" or "SD Gecko Swiss Tutorial"

Alternatively look for the same stuff here.

No asking for download links.

You have to have either a disc backup compatible DVD drive or use DIOS MIOS lite (in the stickies, if you even bothered looking) to launch GC games from the SD card, although it's not the best way. When did you buy your Wii?

bought the wii like a week ago, it's the red one. i didn't see the sticky sorry, and thanks
You have to use DIOS MIOS lite/SD Gecko. Both work like shit AFAIK so...have fun with that.

Alternatively you could emulate GC games on your PC if it's powerful enough. Google Dolphin Emulator.

If your Wii was made before January 2009 (I think) it will probably play GC games burned onto DVD-R media, if it's newer than that DML or SD Gecko are your only options, aside of course from throwing down the $20 or so it will cost to buy both those games.

EDIT:Red Wii? - just buy the games, none of the pirated solutions (including DVD-R backups) allow streaming audio to work, so many games are not fully functional, and playing Zelda games with no music would probably suck quite badly - i wouldn't know, I own originals of all but Skyward Sword.

Dios Mios Lite is actually pretty decent. Can play most good games well (Super Mario Sunshine, etc)

Either way, I can't help you.

I don't help people who don't read the stickies. >.>

I have never tried using DML but I am stuck with a wii that cannot play burned dvds so my only option is DML or the SD-GECKO with swiss-gc. I ordered an sd-gecko from dealextreme.com for less than 4$ and set-up swiss-gc. It seems the swiss-gc developer is busy and always improving it. I have experimented with Windwaker and Four Swords Adventures and they work flawlessly (as far as I can tell). Star Fox Adventures is another story - though the game seems playable it lacks some backround audio. I dont think the Zelda games make use of the streaming audio so swiss or DML won't have any problems but several games (including Star Fox Adventures) do use streaming audio and thus are best played with a retail disk or burned disk (if your wii supports them).

In order to play GC games on the wii (using any method) you need a standard gamecube controller. The Wii Classic Controllers etc. will not work.

don't forget the memory card to save data too.

If you bought a Wii a week ago, how are you supposed to use the controllers and memory cards if the new Wii doesn't support them?

I was thinking this as well. That new wii doesn't have GC controller or memory ports. You can probably install and use DML on it, but without any way to connect your controller, it won't help much (as billsac mentions: there is no way to use any wii controller, and it's very unlikely there ever will be).

@[member='Pinkie232']: swiss is pretty decent on some games. I finished four swords on swiss where the only hiccup was on the intro menu, and DML doesn't even have that. I'll gladly admit there are quite some games that aren't working, and most have at least some issue...but it's pretty harsh to condemn projects that are still well in development.

The two different types of Wiis are co-existing, AFAIK.

Yes, they do. At least here. Although they are starting to disappear more and more.
And, correct me if Im wrong, but the new version isnt available in Red (at least, Ive never seen one here).
