Hi there.

Maybe some of you will think this post has nothing to do with the dstwo SDK section, but i think it has to be here.
The iSmartMM is a flashcart based on the iPlayer hardware. The CPU onboard is an ingenic JZ4730 like on the Dingoo.
On the dstwo, it's the JZ4740.
The iSmartMM also has some plugin available like on dstwo, but they are specific to its hardware : movie player, NDSGBA, iSmart Linux (dingoo port).
You can't use them directly on dstwo without porting them.

Now the point of my post here.

I asked several time the team behind this flashcart to release the SDK of the iSMM and they never answered (accepted ?).
I checked the dstwo SDK and from what i understand it's probably possible to adapt it so it can compile proper plugin for the ismm.
Avenir already released a tool to unpack/pack .plg files from the dstwo and the ismm so it's possible to get the ismm.dat firmware from an existant plugin.
Now i'm wondering if someone is able to adapt the dstwo SDK to the ismm hardware so we can at last share the projects between both flashcarts.

Why i ask that in there ?

Because i believe there is a chance to find someone interested in doing this here.
Both part of the community, ismm and dstwo, has something to gain in this alliance. The ismm will have more plugin (alek maul promised me to port his mame emulator to the ismm if he get the SDK) and the dstwo will have its linux (i have the sources of the iSmart linux).

Thanks for reading.

This all sounds logical to me, the big question is whether it's really possible to convert the DSTWO SDK to an iSmart SDK. As the situation is right now, I guess most people wouldn't mind Dingux on DSTWO (although not much could be gained from it imho), so hopefully something comes out of this.

Where can I get this tool?

On a related note, I don't have an iSmart MM, but an iPlayer and DStwo. I once experimented a bit to update the firmware of the iPlayer with the firmware of the iSmart MM and - believe me or not - it worked. The iPlayer's firmware number has become the number of the iSmart MM's firmware, but the iPlayer still boots into the same boring iPlayer menu.

Avenir's tool is based on CuteMiyu work. Just use his tool : http://gbatemp.net/topic/304420-dstwo-tool-for-windows/
