I was wondering if anyone knew what real games inspired (or are most like) the fake games on Retro Game Challenge.

Rally King and Rally King SP - Micro Machines
Robot Ninja Haggle Man and Robot Ninja Haggle Man 2 - Ninja Kid

Haggle Man is a mistranslation, if anything. Doesn't haguru mean "gear", so it should have been Gear Man.

Unless Haggle was written in Hiragana or Katakana or whatever it is where you just romanize it and you're good to go.

I thought something didn't make sense when I was watching Ninja Kid videos. As it turns out though, Ninja kun was localized as Ninja Kid too. I just happened to get the wrong Ninja Kid.

Sorry, this is Alessa's thread, so I can't even begin to wonder what the answer to that question is.

However, I know she's horrible at parody-placing. She originally thought Guadia Quest was a parody of Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei.

I really should, but she doesn't do this kind of stuff too often to begin with. In fact, I think this was the first time she didn't even remotely try to pretend she was me.

Regarding the Haggle Man translation, this was an in joke from the localization team. Because that's EXACTLY the sort of weird "translation" that used to happen back in the day.
