Hacking AKAIO 1.89?

Just wondering if anyone had heard anything from the AceKard team. I would go buy Super Mario 3D right now, but I don't want to lose all of my homebrew.

AKAIO is not the same as the firmware updates.

AKAIO is a kernel. A decoder for games, if you will.

Personally, I went on a head and bought Mario 3D Land and updated, the update on it is the common 2.2 firmware that is known to block flashcarts. Acekard has a status on Nov 3rd that they are working on a fix, and Supercard recently came out with one, so it'll be soon enough. Just make sure you have another DS to update it with.

Trust me, it's worth it, great game.

If you play Mario 3D Land, no, it BLOCKS the cart from playing, which is how you update it.
If you don't have any other DS or 3DS, or have a friend with either that can run it (and update it), then do NOT get Mario 3D Land.

What we're saying is these updates are separate from AKAIO.

As long as you do the update before 2.2 is installed, you can.

so far as i know, the latest akaio kernel is 1.8.8 o.O
The akaio kernel has been updated to 1.8.9

I updated my 3DS i don't really care about my acekard not working really i dont even play DS games they are kind of boring and terrible graphics. i can't take the pixel graphics on the DS games.

I still like most 8 and 16 bit games ten times better than most of what has been coming out this generation. Games are supposed to be fun, not just interactive movies.

Nah I agree with his hate of DS games to an extent, too many games try to do 3D and it looks like crap 90% of the time.
