Point still stands that a laptop is not a handheld, unless you've 3+ hands.

That's a handheld console, not a laptop PC.

ITT: We lose track of perhaps one of the most innovative games of this handheld generation
OP only has screenshots, with no explanation for why anyone should be interested in the game. I've never heard of Gravity Rush until today and know nothing about it at all since I haven't followed the Vita scene.

You can totally tell 30 and 60 FPS apart. SSFIV3DE is a prime example of it.

Mainly because you can switch between 60FPS (2D mode) and 30FPS (3D mode) and there's also its HD counterpart which runs at 60FPS. In a game where you can't explicitly be told the framerate or notice a difference in it, you wouldn't know if it's 60FPS or 30FPS. If Mario Kart 7 came out without the framerate it runs at being announced and it was the same framerate in 2D and 3D mode, you wouldn't know it was 60FPS probably.

EDIT: The entire point of my statement was that people on the 3DS side of the fence (surprise surprise, I'm poking fun at this crowd) love to state how some games (Tekken 3D, Mario Kart 7, etc) run at 60FPS. But a game like this comes along and it the graphics are great, I don't need to tote around whatever framerate it runs at (unless of course the framerate is noticeably slow) to say the game looks great.

That doesn't change the fact that it's a noticeable difference. I don't particularly care either way, but it is a difference that can be recognized. I would think after playing so much of one game tied to one genre, like Call of Duty as a FPS, one would be able to tell if the next game in the line would run at a higher or lower framerate, especially if you're comparing the earlier titles to a newer one, but eh. It doesn't really matter at this point, especially with a new IP, as there's nothing to compare it to.

We've had a thread on it before, or at least a couple of pages in a thread. Its concept is pretty amazing. I'm not a huge fan of Sony, but I definitely suggest giving it some research.

There's a couple of trailers and such, it's what Sony is pushing to be one of the big launch titles. If you kept up with the Vita scene, you'd know about it.

It's also called Gravity Daze in Japan.

Sony Japan always makes good games - You can hate on Sony but still like Sony Japan ;)

a very good example of how frames-per-second stands out is on the DS. I think we can pretty much assume that Mario Kart DS runs at 30fps, give or take, right? then comes the Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing. that game cruises on the DS at a whopping 60fps. it really is that smooth, which is very impressive for a DS title. the sensation of speed is so much better because of the fluid graphics.

anyways, back on topic, this title is starting to really intrigue me. it's like those black & white gravity-based flash games, except you're moving in a 3D sort of open world. i wonder how the gravity works especially on open sky levels, and for how long...

I don't seem too interested in this game, even though it shows the Vita potential very well.

But if the gameplay mechanics are good, then I'll be. Cuz it's 'gravity' which pulls me off... Sounds like a tad hard to control.

Don't flare me please. I know I'm being a 'jerk' now but serious.

I think I do remember it being smoother, but both games are still fun. I can't wait for a VS game of them. :P

Oh yeah, like VVVVVV. Play other games like that before, but can't remember them.

I know it not quite the same, but Mario have those gravity changing panels which I find fun, so this just let you do it anytime it seem.

It looks very pretty. I wonder what the gameplay mechanic will be like.

the dumb thing about consoles hahahaha limited to its hardware. thank god for pc's.
I sincerely hope that was sarcasm. If not, I ask you to make a handheld gaming PC that can play games at 60fps.
Um, a laptop? A tablet?
Laptops and tablets are limited to their hardware. And the circle is complete :ha:
I've changed the ram and upgraded the HDD in my laptop, and could swap the processor if I wanted to.

You have fun with that. OH! While you're at it? Change the GPU, too...

no. oh while you're at it with your consoles, why dont you pay another $300 dollars for the new generation consoles, you know the ones that run weaker than computers? while i only have to pay near $150 to get the same or even better performance for a longer duration of time, hahah jokes on you.

We have to wait 5-10 years for each console at which point it most likely you have to update your computer/laptop.
5 years hardware are still managing to play 2011-12 games. In which I didn't have to worry about if a game will
work on my console or not. I just slip it in and play it.

Where are you getting these ~ prices anyway?

Are you seriously fucking comparing this game to Mario?
Comparing one spot of Mario, not as a whole. Calm down...

Where do you get a laptop that can run new games at a decent speed for $150? Unless you were talking about upgrading it, if so, good luck with the gpu and cpu.

On-topic: Game looks amazing, makes me want a Vita now.

i built my computer, a 6850 costs only $150 and outperforms the consoles. and did u see what they did to the crysis releases for the consoles? (ok sure you dont have to worry about owrking on it or not, BUT there comes the downside) they removed ALOT of the detail into the game and totally destroyed most of the vegetation and limited the resolution just to make sure its able to run on the old hardware. In the end theres no doubt a computer will play it for cheap.
