I have been trying to patch Love Plus with patch v0.9 with xdelta gui. But, after I clicked "Apply patch" there is no patched rom anywhere. I had been waiting for about 5 minutes, but there is nothing. I thought a patched rom supposed to be there with (filename)_patched.nds
I have clean rom with the size of 256 MB
But, it still won't work.
Please someone, help me.

LovePlusV09_20111104.patch
LovePlus ROM
xDelta
xDelta GUI

The 4 of them in same folder? Good
Patch Select, select patch
Select Rom, select the rom
Click Apply patch and then wait a little bit, depending on your machine it could take a couple minutes. You may need to refresh your window with F5 if it doesn't appear. A Love Plus_patched.nds rom should be there.

It seemed, It was placed in root folder. I don't know how it ended up in that place, though. Does xDelta Gui creates patched rom in the root folder?

Do not use this xDelta

Use this xDelta

Here's a tutorial for how to use XDeltaGUI.
It's for another game so when it mentioned the game and the patch, you will have to use your Love Plus game and Love Plus patch instead of the Tokimeki Memorial game.

By the way, make sure you unzip/unrar your files. The game rom must have file extension .nds and the patch must be .patch. (If you still have them as .rar or .zip, find a program to extract them first.)

I have a problem too.
When I click patch, it's working in the background and ... I have no patched file created in the source folder.

Maybe it created the file in another folder?
I've check the usual place when software use the default user folder (c:/apps and settings/username/) instead of the source, but it wasn't there either.

It's nowhere on C:, nor on the source drive.

I did it with the command line
Code:
xdelta patch LovePlusV09_20111104.patch "4152 - Love Plus (J)(Independent).nds" "4152 - Love Plus (J)(Independent)_patched.nds"
and it worked fine, it created the patched file in the source dir correctly.

maybe there's a bug with the GUI?

You could use the official xdelta command line tool.

Downloads:
Windows 32-bit (use this if you aren't sure which to use)
Windows 64-bit (use this if you know your processor has an x86_64 architecture)

Thanks both of you very much. I just added this thread to the translation project's FAQs page.

I'm not very good at using command line and I've never had any problem with XDeltaGUI. I'm not sure what caused the problem though.

It doesn't work for me too,
I treid everything you guys said in here, and it still doesn't work.
WHY!WHY!!!????!!

I waited for like half an hour, and still no sign of the _patch file. What am I doing wrong?

So I'm trying to patch Pokemon Soul Silver to make it Pokemon Storm Silver. Whenever I open xDelta GUI, nothing happens. I'm not opening xdelta, I'm opening xDelta GUI. I've watched/read some tutorials, and I've found no way to get around this problem. Does anyone know what to do? I'm on Windows 10.

thank you very much i've been reading several tutorials and seeing some videos and non of them were helping me apply a dpad control patch of spirit tracks to use the dpad and buttons instead of the touchscreen thanks! i'll recommended for people to come to this gba temp page and to look at your 100% working link method and God Bless you!

Whew... Smells like something died in here  A word of advice, if you have a problem or question and the last reply to a related thread was years ago, you'd be better off making a new topic instead of a necropost on an old one.

Anyway, to answer your question... That error means the rom you're trying to patch doesn't match the original rom which was used to create the patch. You should try to redump it or you can try patching it with Delta Patcher and disabling the checksum validation.
