It's not about age, it's about quality.

A good game is a good game. Now and 16 years ago.
Sadly, I've noticed that isn't true for the latest generation of gamers. All they care about is graphics. I'm certainly not old (21), but I still love playing original Gameboy and NES games.
Yes, but they're mainstream gamers, which consist of 95% of my generation, sadly. I hate them so, all they talk about is CoD and Xbox, it's really annoying. I won't say they have bad taste in games, but the truth is for the most part they don't have any taste at all. They don't need it. Reason being they flock to what looks cool or flashy. They're kind of like people who cover-shopped when the internet wasn't that big (which was alot gamers), except back then it was acceptable.

This is actually the reason I sometimes use the name Retro Neo Gamer. I love retro games, but I grew up in the current, corrupted generation.

That's not as much about the game as it is about the shit taste of the younger generations.

It's like saying a movie is bad because of the language it's narrated in. If it's good altogether, it's good even if some people don't like to read subtitles.

Not the best example I could come up with, I'm kinda tired.

I would like a MM remake...I hated it at first, but i was younger then its very much a game thats a bit hard to wrap your head around compared to OoT
It played with a lot of concepts that weren't really around at the time (or at least not used much)

I agree, I didn't really understand it when I was younger (4), but then I played it on the Wii last Summer and LOVED it (still have to beat the Stone Temple).

Its aged well hasn't it? Only thing that really fell behind is the graphics....

(also if they port MM I hope they don't nerf it by letting you save easier or being more forgiving with the 3 day thing, its one of the reasons it was so fun because it was actually difficult and you actually had to think and plan ahead)

The day before yesterday I was freaking out at Great Bay temple because I was running out of time and had the boss key but didn't see that one room with the boss door. But I was still enjoying it for some reason, even when I was just running around in circles. They should keep it as it is.

I would not have preferred Majora's Mask over OOT.

While Majora's Mask had some great gameplay it had one fatal flaw; THE FIRGGEN TIME LIMIT!
You are constantly worried about "How much time do I have left till I need to play that firggen song again!?" Then you have to rush to the bank to store your ruppies so you don't loose them, then play the Song of Time, then go back to the bank, withdraw your money, go to the shops, stock up on stuff, then attempt the friggen temple AGAIN and re-do every firggen complex puzzle, YET AGAIN! Points at the fourth temple in Majora's Mask!

I constantly feel like I am playing a timed demo or something, I hated the deathclock! HATED IT! That was the only thing that killed the enjoyment of the game for me. I don't care that there were songs that allowed you to skip fourth in time and even slow down the rate of time. The time gimmick was just too much.

I liked OOT over MM. While OOT still used a time system and some events would only occur during specific times I.E. shops were closed at nighttime, Golden Skelluta's would only appear at night, it did not hinder gameplay to the point of it becoming a gimmick.

I did see some things that worry me a bit. In the gameplay trailers you see the player tilting the 3DS to aim the slingshot. I hope that funciton is optional! We all know how well 3D and tilting the system combined work! That's not very well at all for those that have been paying attention!

You are constantly worried about "How much time do I have left till I need to play that firggen song again!?" Nah. Song of double time and you're good to go.Then you have to rush to the bank to store your ruppies so you don't loose them, then play the Song of Time, then go back to the bank, withdraw your money, go to the shops, stock up on stuff, What for? Go to Termina and slash some grass and you'll be full of items in no time. then attempt the friggen temple AGAIN and re-do every firggen complex puzzle, YET AGAIN! Points at the fourth temple in Majora's Mask! Only Stone Tower Temple can be confusing. The other ones are of normal difficulty.

Seriously, the whole timer thing was excellent to fit the mood of the game, specially the last few hours. It's amazing that the game made me feel bad for the characters.

I loved the death clock for a lot of reasons, but probably the main reason is a philosophical one. Link tries to do as much as he can in the time limit, but the point is he can't do everything and more importantly, he can't save everyone. In media, they often show the hero who somehow saves anyone with few to no casualties, and maybe having to sacrifice themselves, but that's not good enough here. No matter how strong he gets or how much he does, there's no way to do everything. It's not possible to defeat the 4 temples, save all of the people they were affecting, reunite Anju and Kafei, save the ranch from "them", and defeat Majora. It's impossible. It's because of this that I loved MM and the message that it sent, inadvertently or not.

As for in the gameplay, I liked it there too. It made the game more difficult (and I love difficult games) and gave you a sense of routine, apprehension, and risk that really spiced he game up for me. And the mounting frustration from the clock almost going out while in a dungeon was exciting.

An epic game like ocarina of time is really hard to find in these days, but MM was there in the next year and the game was soooo epic. They put a lot of work to make some great games in a lower time, and with the nintendo 64 conditions the problem was bigger, but the result we already know

I'll give you a tip on that if you ever play it again. You can get 200 rupees at the beginning of the first day easily.

You have to get the Blast Mask first (save the old lady at midnight of the first day in North Clocktown) or the bomb bag if you want to get the first silver rupee.

1) Run to East Clocktown and talk to the Bomber there (northeast corner). Give him the code that you get at the beginning of the game. Run through the pathway that he lets you through, and when you get to water turn left instead of going forward. Swim against the wall so you don't get hit by a skulltula. There is a dead end, but you can climb out of the water. There is a crack in the wall. Use the Blast Mask or a bomb to open it up. There is a chest with a silver rupee in there.
2) Backtrack to where the Bomber member was. Run against the east wall going south. You will be able to jump onto things (including the sign for one of the shops) until you get to the southern end of east Clocktown. There is a chest with a silver rupee there.
You can also get a third silver rupee, but you have to wait until around noon.
3) At noonish go to the Stockpot Inn (or whatever it is called) and ask for a room, saying you have a reservation. Somebody else with the same name made a reservation (like an hour later there is an argument about it that you can listen in on). You take the key instead because you are sneaky and don't care about other people. Go upstairs to the second room and you will now be able to open it. There is another silver rupee there.

I know those directions aren't the best, but you will understand them a lot better once you are actually playing the game. There are plenty of other ways to get money, but with those you can get 300 rupees within a few minutes. It's also been a little while since I played MM, so that's just what I can think of at the moment.

You can also kill the bird near Romani Ranch but it's risky as it may steal your sword (you get it back by travelling back in time anyway). It drops 200 rupees.

While MM was awesome and a great sequel to OoT, I still favor OoT as the original.
Both are epic though, and i'm sure if OoT is well received (and it will be) MM will be on the 3DS as well.

I agree. MM looks like it's almost certainly coming out on 3DS cuz people are RAVING about a game they've only ever played with bad graphics.

Miyamoto has said that there is an official timeline that only he and I think Aonuma are allowed to see.

Yeah, I but I think he is lying, considering how much stuff can't possibly make sense. Even the spit timeline theory (the most popular theory) doesn't fit with some of the stories. I don't think they really care about making stories work. Plus, come on, a timeline that nobody else is allowed to see?

What stuff cant possibly make sense? As for the split time line theory, i think it is hard to disprove as OoT does end the way it does but really we can examine physics all we want, but bottom line is that it's a video game.
I used to have a long list of them, but atm I can't remember much. Most of them were about the events of The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. If you want I will try to remember more, but one big one was this:

When Young Link first pulls the Master Sword, the door to it has already been opened, meaning Ganondorf already has tricked the king, Zelda has fled into hiding, and Ganondorf already has entered the Sacred Realm. Going back in time to the point where you first pulled the sword means you still can't warn Zelda about what will happen. The dominoes have already started falling. If you assume he went back further in time, that means he is trapped behind the door.

atfer reading your post again it seems you might be confused about 'doors'. Link uses the sacred stones to open the door to the chamber with the master sword. Link then pulls the master sword opening the 'door' to the sacred realm. Link is then sealed in a crystal thing for 7 years until he is actually old enough to wield the sword of evils bane. Ganondorf was following Link and let's himself in and tells Link that he let him in. It's all in the video you just posted. Im not sure if youre fore real or not cause you have seemed to contradict yourself.

When Link gets sent back at the end he doesnt get sent back to when he pulls the sword, he gets sent to the point were he first meets Zelda after getting the Kokiri Emerald

added spoilers

Not true. The Door of Time is the door that leads to the Master Sword. When he opened the door, Ganondorf entered the Sacred Realm. And he does go back to when he first pulled the Master Sword, that's why the drawbridge in front of Hyrule Castle is always broken. Like I mentioned before, if he went back further in time than that, he would be trapped in the Chamber of the Master Sword.
I don't know anyuthing about any drawbridge, but the ending to OoT is quite telling. When Zelda sends Link back in time, she says that "the path between our times will close". That wasn't the words of someone about to obliterate her own timeline and go see Link again as a child. In fact the entire sealing of Ganondorf is pointless if everything is *kabam* prevented by time travel. Split timelines, a valid and popular time travel theory, are the only thing that works. When i finished OoT, I got the distinct impression that Link had gone back to the first time he met Zelda, and that they both still had some memories from the other timeline.

In short, I think you're wrong.

Edit: Rewatched the ending. When Link walks towards Zelda, Zelda is looking through the courtyard window in the exact same way she was as she spied on Ganondorf during your first meeting.

zelda doesnt have her old memories, she didnt lived them through.
link on the other hand did so...

Theoretically they can use the engine from OOT3D and make new 3D Zelda games, right?
That'd be cool.

I doubt they'd want to, the engine for OoT is vastly inferior to recent Zelda engines like Twilight Princess. If anything they'd want to develop a new Zelda engine specifically for the 3DS from the bottom up.
