ROM Hack Pokemon Platinum: Enhanced Edition

Having trouble, I patched the rom, it changed the name to clean.nds but the game didn't change. All the same starter pokemon were there.

All its doing is writing 777 1 bits to clean.nds

I'm on vista x64 I'll try it on another computer.

The problem is with xdelta,

I have one suggestion, but I don't know how hard it would be to implement.

Could it be possible to change the order that the Poketch apps appear on the watch? Maybe group the more useful ones together (especially Step Count app and the Day Care app)?

The problem is with xdelta,

You don't actually have to play around with xdelta yourself. You noticed the .bat file, right? Double click and follow instructions. What you were trying to do was creating a patch which resulted in nonsense.

XDelta seems to cause problems for some people, I'll look into using .ups for the next release.
(And btw, yes, save games are fully cross-compatible)

edit the problem is with your bat then, because thats the command it runs

Whoops you're right, sorry. Actually I mistook the command patch for the command delta, so I take that back.
Although I don't get why it didn't work then...

EDIT: UPS File patching creates a 82 MB file

Guess we'll have to stick with xdelta unless someone can mention an easier alternative.

all u have to do is put all the nessecary files in a folder then click on Patch and click any key....then it will stop and it will say commencing patch

wait until u see patch complete

then take the new file PlatinumEnhancedBeta3.nds and put it in ur flash cart and play it

these are the files needed in the folder

beta3.xdelta
xdelta
a clean pokemon ds rom ( pokemon platinum.nds )
patch

click on patch and click any key to continue

then wait


hope this fixes the confusion

I have released version 1.0 and have taken your suggestion of using the GUI: The readme now advises people to download the GUI (link provided) and use it

First off, thanks, this is grand. It actually motivated me enough to touch my neglected Platinum.

I do have two questions, though.
1. Is using PokeSav the only way to obtain a National Dex, or would you still get it naturally at some point in the game?
2. If I use version 1.0, would my save file from Beta 3 still work?

So is this 'complete' already? I know it's not yet done, and there are bugs to fix, but are the features that you want to implement all in there? I'm hyped for your hack, but I want to make sure I won't miss anything before I start playing

The last thing I want to happen is start a new game, only to find out that your rival still chooses Turtwig (like I ndid with the last Beta version).

Great job though, hopefully it reaches FINAL version sooner rather than later

I grabbed Beta3 yesterday and must say you've done an excellent job!

Your 'enhancements' certainly breathe new life into Platinum and, the text at times is quite hilarious.

Uhg, could you upload YOUR untrimmed rom that works, and PM me the link?

Because for some reason, only the trimmed version is working for me.

My untrimmed one started working. It didn't work, (just got the white screen and nothing else) and then I took it off my flash cart, then I decided I wanted to give it one more try and put it back on, (the same rom.) and it worked. That is all I did to it, I dragged it off and then dragged it right back on. so I'm not really sure what the problem with it was. In short, my advice is to keep messing with it and maybe you'll get yours to work too. It would seem that the problem isn't the patch in any way. It's...us.

The DSTT usually has problems with ROM hacks. The JUS translation had to be done a certain way just for the DSTT.

The untrimmed ROM with YSMenu works for me so you can try using YSMenu.

For all the people that need help with the patching(Or didn't read the README).

1) Go to: This link here(it provides a Patching program)

2) Download the zip files.

3) Extract them to your desktop or a folder(The files are xDelta, xDelta GUI, and the all-important Readme).

4)
If you put the extracted files in a folder:
Place your Platinum ROM in the same folder(Copy it, or whatever) and place the Patch that your going to use in the Folder(Trimmed or Un-Trimmed).
It should look like this:
FolderName--->[xDelta] [xDelta GUI] [Pokemon Platinum ROM] [Both Patches]

If you placed the extracted files in your Desktop:
Place your Platinum ROM and your Patches in the Desktop.

5) Now that your done with downloading, Open up XDelta GUI.

6) It will say:
[___________________] Select Patch
[___________________] Select ROM

Obviously where it says "Select Patch", You'll place the Patch that you would like(The ones you Downloaded here)and select the Trimmed(No AR codes but saves space for Pokesav if your using an Emulator for your PC) or you can select the Un-Trimmed(AR codes are available).

Aaaaand where it says: "Select ROM", You'll put The World Ends with You.....NO you'll put your Platinum ROM

7) Click Apply Patch

8) Make sure your "Patched" ROM has the corresponding Megabytes(Check if it has 62+ MB)

9) When your ROM is Patched, just drag your ROM into your Flash card's Game folder and your good to go
