Is this 2ds xl repairable?

Hello! I bought a 2ds xl that had a few flaws, a friend managed to fix the small issues but the big issue seems to be the L/ZL button. For reference, the L/ZL side is the first picture, and the R/ZR side is the second one. My friend said that it seems like someone ripped off the buttons with their fingers as opposed to soldering them off, and told me that there's no fixing an issue like this. I asked around and was told that as long as the pads are there, it'll take some good soldering skill to fix it but it is still fixable. I just want some second opinions before I try anything else.

Depending if there are pads left , if there are no pads left can try running trace wire to the each leg of the buttons.

Have to run trace wire if the pads are broken , it is basically connecting point a to point b on the board. The trace are those lines on the motherboard.
