So a few weeks ago I gave up nicotine, which was easy. You just feel like shit for a few days. I have quit probably five times before, and it's harder the longer it's been going on (this last time, that I'm gonna make the last time, I hadn't been doing it for more than three weeks, still felt down, angry, all those good feelings).

After that I thought the only drug I regularly use is caffeine. So I quit that too, I had headaches which I anticipated... Did not know it would make me lethargic and unmotivated for days though. What a terrible drug, one of the worst IMO.

I'm pro drugs, I think they should all be legal, sold at pharmacies and that taxed drug money should go to schools and healthcare, instead of you know giving the greatest gift ever to criminal gangs/cartels.

I do drink alcohol on occasion, which is a drug of course, responsible for a lot of the bad things in society, like A LOT, I also enjoy smoking weed and my favorite drug in the world is amphetamine. I seldom drink, don't smoke at the moment and I can't buy amphetamine at the moment... So that's why I'm on this high horse, looking down at you for doing all those drugs like caffeine while I'm living a straight edge-life, with the occasional drink. 🤪
nah bud marijuana nearly ruined my life. only got high one time. now I'm on meds life long due to its side effects.

I smoke marijuana and eat edibles of it. I rarely drink alcohol except on occasion like my birthday, xmas, new years or on some random days throughout the year. I'm prescribed oxycodone for jaw pain but enjoy the highs it gives off beats being in pain though. Also addicted to nicotine im 41 and started smoking when I was 17.. smoked 3-4 packs of smokes a day since i was 17 but looking to quit now once i get reconstructive jaw surgery

Best way to live and stay drug free is observation and intelligence and view "lots of things as a trap". so, for one I stayed drug free all my life except excluding drugs prescribed by the doctor. however when I was 16 I made intriguing observations most observations came mainly from movies like gang movies that involved "drug use". however, i know most people will be quick to disregard everything in movies because they will say its all just a movie. but in some cases i dont think so especially in movies that involve crime that are based on real events or actions that impact real people. so, what i observed is that "drug use" makes people stupid and so does alcohol when abused. I also watched at that age how people act when over dosed by alcohol and how it makes them stupid. you could say stupid is too harsh. but thats merely a "descriptor" for how they behave when they are under the influence of something they lack resistance too and they become mentally vulnerable. to substitute that lengthy description i say it makes them stupid. and I thought to myself. well, i dont wanna be stupid. so, when I was 16 i made vow that alcohol, drugs cigarettes will stay far away from my lips. and it has ever since. part of this and keeping to this also requires having a strong mind and being passionate about staying devoted to such a vow as well as a good memory to be able to remember that you made this vow so long ago.

I only have two addictions in life thats coffee and video games. both are healthier addictions to the traps that people fall into. oh and how do you decide what is a trap? well. a lot of people think oh it can never happen to me or I only want to try it just once. those two phrases are the traps.

You are on a high horse alright, a highly regarded one. Coffee with caffeine is insanely good for you so long as you drink 4 cups a day or more. I love the bragging for doing something actively harming you.

I think it does have some benefits (insanely good might be hyperbole though?), I also think the most positive studies have been financed by people wanting a certain result. You can find both kinds of studies if you are not just looking to support whatever you already believe.

I think it's riskier the younger you are when you first try it. That's very unfortunate for you, most people are alright, but it's an unknown beforehand.

I wonder if any type of mental illness has risen in places where it is legal. People who are against it could use that so easily to support their point of view.

That makes no sense, how do you drug your free game? 🤪

When you are younger, yes. However, in regards to causing mental illness there seems to be studies associating it with mental illness while other studies show it isn't. From what I have researched it can cause mental illness but that risk isnt likely unless you have it at a younger age. I tried marijuana when I was in college never had a problem with that but that was when I was 21 now I'm 41 stayed on it when it was made legal never once had a problem doing it at a later age.

I had a kind of fucked up life growing up, so when I was 12 I started drinking and smoking cigarettes. Thankfully, I also saw many guys using drugs in that circle that I was part of, so, thanks to those guys and how bad they were having it, I lost total interest in drugs. I drank and smoked for about 2 years, then started dropping it. Every time a bit less, and less.

It's been around 10 years that I drink only on special occasions, like a birthday, or a reunion with friends, new year and stuff like that. When I drink, I like to smoke some cigarettes. So, all that experience since I was a lost child, was good in the end because I never used drugs in my life, I can control when and how many alcohol / cigarettes I want to drink, and it's seldom, every 3, 4 weeks, sometimes more than a month in between.

On the other side, I have insomnia since I was a kid, too, unfortunately, so I use almost daily melatonin. Don't know if that could count as a drug. Also, I always have a box of clonazepam, for those hard days when your mind just wants to fuck you up, I take half or one pill, depending how depressed I am. So you could say that is the only drug that I take every now and then.

But I think I'm doing good, I could have been an addict and an alcoholic due to the life I had, but I decided not to, and just have those things that I mentioned when I want to. I think it's not too bad.

I hope everyone can have a drug-free life. I know it's hard, but it can be achieved.
