GBAtemp is and always has been an independent community. Since 2002 our staff have voluntarily kept the site running, added new forums, features, provided constant news updates and more.

While we do run adverts on GBAtemp, unfortunately these alone are barely enough to sustain a site like ours in 2026. I do not use Paypal or Stripe since they ask for a copy of my ID, even if i use my credit card, so that is out of the question.

Cant you (site management) use Patreon or something alike that one can just add a credit card and does not ask for my personal life story, ID, DNA sample, and my soul?

I only have cashapp and paypal. For some reason my paypal account no longer lets me add money from my checking account. According to a lot of other users they been getting the same glitch or error whatever the problem is with it.

I had Paypal in the past but they started asking for a copy of my ID and i closed my account. And i had that account since 2004 and made a lot of payments to Ebay with it, up to 2019 (last time), with zero complaints made, so they knew i was over 18yo and that i was not a bot or any type of scammer. To hell with them!

I hear ya. That seems to be how a lot of services are these days with ID checks where you have to take a picture of your ID. It sucks and makes the service unusable. I'm not giving those fuckers my ID when I already had my account for many years when it was working.

You must have done something or there must be a glitch with the new postbits because my username is actually colored blue. But about the setting to disable them that sounds fair and I agree with you there. They should leave them on by default while there would be a setting to disable in your profile settings somewhere.
