sys-ColorCurve- Color Curve adjustment for Switch
Note: No screenshot will ever do justice to how good this looks on a real console, so try it.

Features:
- Use various algorithms to adjust the color curve to fake HDR
- Seperation between handheld and docked profiles
- Simple UltraHand overlay for control
- Customization for parameters of algorithms
- Works globally across all apps and homebrew
- Curve calibration tool to easily calibrate it for your displays

Some notes however:

- Tonemapping is still basic and needs a lot of improvement (Particularily with Reinhard)
- sys-ColorCurve is incompatible with Fizeau due to how it works. They cannot be used together without interfering with each other
- Adjusted output cannot be screenshotted due to technical reasons, and sysDVR will not output the adjusted image.
- This is different from Fizeau in the sense that Fizeau doesn't adjust the underlying curve, it just offsets it, so you can't say "make dark parts darker", only "make the whole image darker". I would be open to working with averne to integrate this with Fizeau however!

Color Pop Preset:

ACES
exposure: 0.62
white point: 5.50
expand: 0.42
contrast: 1.01

Subtle Preset::
Hable
Exposure 1.45
White Point 4.60
Expand 0.74
Contrast 1.01

what a bullshit feature app made by the second-biggest bullshitter on the scene after Cooler :rofl2:
If you’re going to waste that much energy and water on AI, at least use it for something useful
Can you not be any less of an asshole? Half of your projects are just as useful in practice as sys-HDR.

I use 4ifir for years now and it works as advertised. Am I doing something wrong? SHould I parroting others without actually trying stuff instead?

just tried i had to use these settings to get an effect :
Subtle Preset::
Hable
Exposure 1.45
White Point 4.60
Expand 0.74
Contrast 1.01

it really changes the experience, good work !

I'm new to this and interested - Does this change my samsung tv label from SDR to HDR?
Edit : I can try it when I get home.

What do you mean by tone mapping?

AFAIK, neither switch1 HW, system SW nor games have any HDR compatibility.

reading your previous message: rename your app/module to something that makes more sense: sys-tonemapper, sys-parametric-lut... mentioning "HDR" when there is no HDR involved is just misleading and rings like clickbait.
Post automatically merged:

Pseudo-HDR via tonemapping. Can improve visual clarity but is short of true HDR.
you do realise that what your are calling "clarity" and "HDR" probably boils down to simple "more or less localised contrast).
Also, doing any sort of curve adjustment (contrast, exposure) on an SDR colour space is destructive and creates fringing in the slightest intermediate gradient, and clips shadows to black, and highlights to white.

Even without click baiting around "HDR", the slightest tone mapping on such a small colour space will mainly introduce loss of colour information and visual artefacts.

Overall: it can literally only produce loss of visual fidelity vs. source.

Few things here:
Yes I will rename it.
Clarity is subjective and you will lose some edges (that's a limitation of this approcach), but overall it does look better.
I do want to look into true HDR (or as true as Switch2's approach) from the dock but that is for future

You're wrong. It's objective and even more, measurable thing.
I mean kinda, but our eyes aren't objective. Perceived clarity is a huge factor.

I don't know why some of you just hating on this guy specifically. You are acting like some childs for everyone on the internet to see

claiming "HDR" when it is literally not HDR in any shape of form, is a lie, a misleading claim, karma farming, attention seeking, call it as you wish...
It is not subjective to call out such bullshit.
+ as with most vibe coded stuff these days: all verbose grandiloquent jargon-rich fluff, little to no substance.

Ignorance is not an excuse. Do some research on the guy. People are not hating on this guy per se, people don't like what he does. What you perceive ignorantly as hatred is simply people recognising a pattern.

Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean it's okay to insult them and make a spectacle of them in front of the whole world.

If everyone here started acting like that just because they think it's justified, every thread would be full of that kind of bullshit.
