Are dumped Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cartridges safe to use / recognizable?
For example Pokemon Legends Z-A or Zelda Tears of the Kingdom cartrdiges like this (they work on Switch 1 as well):

With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, T2 gamecards are now finally out in the wild. These use an alternate chain of trust model based on a per-cart RSA certificate used to control gamecard comms with individual blacklisting support, completely ditching the old titlekey area based chain of trust model (which means these gamecards offer no Initial Data area at all).Both Switch 2 and hybrid ("Switch 2 Edition") gamecards fall into this category whenever they're used under Switch 1

As I understand the Switch 1 can only see the Switch 1 part of the cartridge, and hopefully mig simulates that.
I just wonder if anyone has ever tried using a dumped Switch 2 Edition game and if they work at all or are not supported yet.

There’s no way to even dump switch 2 games

Def not emulate on mig. It would need all need hardware
 
I see that some folks use the "match version with local users" functionality of the Switch, to update Switch 1 games on the Switch 2 without connecting to the internet.
For those that don't know what I mean, see this video:


What I was wondering, if it's possible to use that feature with a Switch emulator? I see that the modern emulators are able to boot into the Home Menu, but I don't know if every feature is supported and due to my crappy PC, I'm unable to test any of that.


But if so, maybe someone who has the skills, can create an PC/Phone app, which replicates this feature?
Since atmosphere is open source and pretty much reimplemented every aspect of Nintendos code, maybe it's possible to "hack something up"?
 
Has anyone tried the MIG Switch on the Switch 2, without their own dumps/unique IDs, then factory reseted and brought it online without getting banned? Do the telemetry disappear with a factory reset?

local telemetry not synced with N servers are kept on factory reset. only restoring a nand can delete them, but the ones synced with servers will never disappear.

And if you restore a nand to a point before the last sync with N servers, will lead to a ban

Can I transfer this data locally with a hacked Switch 1? I'm a bit baffled here, because on the boxart it says it needs a micro SD card for that data.

You should be able to transfer the data from a Switch1 with match local version

The non oled Switch1 came with 32GB (26GB) usable, so that would automaticly require an SD card to download the game data :)

Another question - does anyone elses Switch 2 press the MIG v2 button, when the cartridge door/flap is closed?
Once I open the flap again, the MIG automatically changes to the next game, which indicates, that the flap is pressing the MIG button the entire time.

The switch lite is the same, don't even need to open the door to change games. Press the cover to change game or hold to go backwards.

One thing I am wondering somewhat related / unrelated to your question if others have experience:
My Mig Switch never locks the currently played game, if pressing the button even after an hour playing the game it changes, how do others get the game to lock to not accidentally switch?

The switch 2 flap is very different that’s why

Theres a little metal block on the under side of the flap that others don’t have

I only have a v1 mig that I have not used since launch

but its only logical, all the extra space that the button provides is now filled with a metal block. Im sure there are 3rd party flaps you can put on there.

Id offer to 3d print one, but I doubt this is a huge issue for more people

It would probably be easier to replace the button on the v2 MIG with a smaller one.
Do STLs exist for the button?

Na, those buttons are WAY to small for printing

I dont think even resin printing could do them. Thats a moulding situation.

For added context the mig switch shell itself I remade was pushing the limits of FDM and consumer resin machines. It would only print if the machine was VERY dialed in and slow

I managed to print a button I had to switch to a .2 nozzle but hey it works (I also broke the actual button itself and had to solder a replacement)

I have a very technical question. Since we have the ability to make our own flash carts and the ability to write our own firmware. I'm trying to figure out how a overlay module can communicate with the fbga chip or ep32 chip on the flashcart to point to a specifc game. The idea is the overlay shows a list of games on the card and user selects them then send a command to the cartridge to then execute. I'm studying nxdumptool because that's the best example of a homebrew talking to a gamecard we're just going a step further.
