Is there a way to replace audio in PS2 games, similar to how we replace textures?
I'm familiar with replacing textures in PCSX2, but I'm curious whether it's possible to replace in-game dialogue, sound effects, or music with custom audio.
If so, what tools or workflow do people typically use?

Since it's possible to edit the ISO's to change some textures, you could do the same for audio, though it would be a lot more time-consuming to do that, and you would need to make an ISO patcher program to avoid any legal trouble.

still researching the best implementation method. looking into either a memory-triggered audio system or an ISO patch that users would apply to their own copy of the game

Yes, in general it's going to depend on what game you're trying to mod, because the audio formats can differ between games. The format you need to use can also differ depending on whether you're replacing background audio or dialog or sound effects.

As far as turning it into a patch other people can use, without running into legal issues, that's easy. Just use xdelta.

I said f it, i was going attempt an English dub for berserk, but I got like 7 more games I want to do, then a series for my YouTube channel, and my own IP I got to work on

I recommend starting with games that are easier to edit, like *Resident Evil* and *Dragon Ball*, since there are tools available to modify their ISOs; *Berserk* might be a bit more work, though there is a version dubbed in Brazilian Portuguese.

Well I'm doing a texture pack for berserk again This time everything in English all the loading screens that were still in Japanese is in English , redid most of the NPCs except for the major characters from the anime but like the zombie characters the trees the dogs the snowmen all of them got redone, Right now I'm just playing through the game getting saved point so I can do a trailer for both Android and PC, I'm ditching the whole audio thing I just don't got time to sit there and configure it, cuz even after I can figure it that means I got to watch the anime get all the good audio out of it and then f*** around and f*** around and then whatever I can't get from the anime and have to use AI and it's just a big headache and it's not worth it I got other s*** to do
