Battery draining quite rapidly

Hi I recall this being an issue on a particular firmware for a modded switch but cant remember the fix

I got two switches both on 20.5 firmware - one of batteries is draining quite rapidly when I have it undocked
what would the fix be to keep the battery lasting longer?

Turn it off when not in use.

May as well say "fill a sink with water and put it in, problem solved!".

@OP, there are two solutions to this, one quite expedient, add these lines to the mentioned .ini file in atmopshere: https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/issues/2528#issuecomment-3054401265

Or you could rebuild your Emunand entirely after making sure you accepted any prompt on the stock side, but that's quite time-consuming.

Battery drains in 1-2 weeks even on an unmodded console. If you want to conserve your battery, turning it off when not in use is the only way.

I am taking a look into the suggestions but imagine have two switches right

one of them is fine the battery does not drain so much but the other one does quite rapidly and ive noticed it is hotter than the other one even when idle.

so its got to be a setting somewhere on this swich or a file (confirugation atmoesphere/bootloader) needs to be modded.

If you don't connect to the Internet on the modded Switch, you can just permanently enable Aeroplane/Flight Mode in settings, and make sure Bluetooth and (optionally) NFC are enabled, only blocking Internet access.

The permanent fix has already been mentioned in previous replies, but it should be sufficient to only disable ns.notification entries. Also, I believe that's all you need in the /atmosphere/config/system_settings.ini file, no need to use a template (but if you want to, here it is).
