Is it possible to port little big planets on to 3DS? If so are there any homebrew developers that can port it into 3DS?

Closed-source.
No previous know homebrew ports made.
From a much more powerful console.

Of course not. But hey, if you want to try at it, go for it. You are always better served by yourself, don't expect one to work on it

You could definitely write a similar game or an outright clone of LBP for 3DS, similar to the PSP installment. Otherwise, the 3DS is far too limited in power to fully replicate the console experience of the LittleBig Planet series.

Even the Playstation Vita struggled to replicate the full functionality of the console installments, as LBP vita seems to have been derived from LBP2's engine, albeit with significant downgrades.

Yeah, no, not possible. EVEN if you tried the PSP littlebigplanet. The 3ds isn't powerful enough for it to run littlebigplanet.

This is the best answer. I think a good gauge would be the GTA3 re3 project. On the 3DS, GTA3 runs slow, and it's a PS2 game. Even if LittleBigPlanet's source were available, I'd expect a PS3 game to run even slower.

It's an interesting idea, but it would have to be someone's passion project. The demand is just too low for a 3DS port of LBP, which means you'd have a hard time finding a dev to undertake the project.

Yes - exactly.
Not to mention that there is already a PC remake for littlebigplanet underway... and has been since 2019 with little to no updates. Definitely a big project to take on. + if you took this on, you would have to use a code name. Sony copyright struck the team making the PC remake.
If you're curious, the project is called Restitched. You can wishlist it on steam.

TLDR; If you do decide to get onto remaking Littlebigplanet for the 3ds, be smart about it

someone made a somewhat working port of mario odyssey, lbp is possible but it wouldnt be as powerful as it is. Anything is possible!

And then, stopped working on it. It wasn't a port, it was a recreation. The 3DS was never capable to running Mario Odyssey. Plus, there's no easy way to "port it" due to the lack of source-code.

I'm surprised I had this as a Watched thread. It amuses me that shrxk101 hasn't been seen since September, 2024, about a month after the initial post. (shrxk101's only post, mind you.)

I'm not sure why I would have been invested in this thread. I have a PS3, so I could pick up the official console version of LittleBigPlanet readily. (In fact, as of this posting, it's a cost-effective series to pick up for the ambitious PS3 owner.)

In summation, I learned that Moddimation worked on a Super Mario Odyssey 3DS recreation, but "Development has stopped, game is left broken and uncomplete." The project hasn't been touched in six months. As a bonus, I realized that, similar to how Shadow of the Colossus taught me how to reliably spell "colossus," Super Mario Odyssey taught me how to reliably recall the spelling of "odyssey."
