the guide has a section for uninstalling cbhc as you're getting started. I just have no idea if you have it installed. you'll just have to figure that out somehow. It might be safe to follow the guide section to uninstall it even if you dont have it, but I have no idea. The only thing making me say you might have it, is you saying you think udpih worked.

a quick google search told me that you'd see ""Autobooting..." something when you start up if you have cbhc.
I have no idea if this is accurate.
I just downloaded Aroma with no problem, so i guess it was stock? There was nothing that gave a hint it had CFW, unlike my modded 3ds. (Bought it off ebay as "region free", and they took out the CFW sd card, so i had to redo the whole Luma setup.) I Don't think it had or has CBHC. Thanks so much for your help though!

sweet! hooray

I know this wouldn't have worked in the equivalent of Gamestop here in Belgium. They take note of the serial number. I wouldn't recommend.
I would just shell swap it. Also, Gamestop employees don't give a fuck, nor do they ever note serial numbers, unless it's a PS5 or a Switch 2. Something that is high value.

This wasn't caused by CBHC. Setting the CB title wouldn't have done anything.
This is pretty sure a bad eMMC and you got lucky that SCFM got beyond that flush that made it crash.
By reinstalling games or doing anything at all you risk it bricking again.

I would insist on returning it. With the insane flash prices the SD needed to fix it is more expensive than the console.

If you still want to fix it install ISFShax. The. Dump the logs to confirm it's a bad eMMC.
From there you can setup redNAND or USBMLC.
You can then transfer the previous owners account to the USBMLC/redNAND and redownload the games there

Sorry, I didnt see this! Well, when i went to story mode of Smash bros wii u, it said there's a problem with system memory. what sd card would be compatible to fix it? I can probably borrow one from a friend. I kinda wasted $130 bucks, and those people were ignoring my calls, and my message to the owner. So, yeah ill try this. I have a 32gb sd to test if it's a bad eMMC. I stopped trying with them, and havent went there since

For installing ISFShax, any SD card should work. Only PTB has the restriction that it needs a 2GB or smaller card, but if it doesn't get worse, you won't need PTB.
For redNAND I recommend a endurance card from a good brand like samsung or sandisk
