Rhythm Heaven Groove gets July 2nd release date alongside surprisingly reasonable pricing

Announced a little over a year ago during a Nintendo Direct, details have been relatively sparse about the latest entry to the Rhythm Heaven (Rhythm Paradise in PAL regions) series. It's not like there's really much that needs saying in all fairness, you somewhat know what you're signing up for with these games, stuffed to the brim with over the top rhythmic action. There's some good news for fans either way, with Nintendo announcing not just the release date for the game, but both the pricing and physical availability.

Launching on the 2nd of July, the game is set to get a physical release on the Nintendo Switch. In this current market of spiralling prices, the real surprise is that it's set to cost £33.99 in the UK, and $39.99 in the US. That's the same for both physical and digital versions if you were curious.

If you're interested in seeing more, you can find some fresh gameplay footage over on the official Nintendo Today app.

I don't know why I heard "surprisingly reasonable" and thought $20. I may pick it up at 40 bucks. $70 would definitely be quite the ask for a game like this
I was personally expecting to see at least £40/$50, so it's a surprise to me. Considering this is just RRP too and that games like this do tend to get reduced pretty quickly, it's a good time to be a Rhythm Heaven fan.

i must have spend endless hours on thsi series, i am excited that the new announced artstyle is more similiar to the original series

I've never heard of it, and it's not a great price, but certainly much better than the current "standard price" for games.

Intrigued!

I know the age of $30 Nintendo published games is over, but $40 is not a "surprising price" by any means. Emio is that price often, and its one of the better VNs of the modern era. Metroid Prime Remastered goes for $40. Mario Vs. Donkey Kong too. Super Mario RPG doesn't have a $40 MSRP but will often be $20. Physical, brand new, ESRB. PEGI and Co. are dirt cheap, but who wants those? Frankly, you'd have to pay me to take them...

Anyway, if you're okay with a Japanese cover version, it will probably be like $20. Maybe worth it if you're already buying other stuff from Japan, but otherwise hard to justify for a series that peaked on DS.

I just hope they're not actually using that garbage text to speech voice they showed off in the first trailer. It was so grating to hear in Metroid Dread and Endless Ocean, just hire a damn voice actor! It makes sense in Tomodachi Life, you kinda have to use a TTS engine, but for more traditional games??

Man, did you even play Fever? Megamix was fine, but Fever was peak IMO
