I just noticed this today. I haven't commented there in a while. I am wondering if I did something to get partially restricted from that section of the site. Only comment I made there was in a covid post saying antivaxxers are dumb. And that was far tamer than what others were saying. Just curious if this restriction was intentional. If so guess I can't do anything about it.

This restriction is intentional, yes.
It is to filter out certain individuals who made accounts to immediately beeline that subforum and engage in discussions, usually in bad faith or after being banned previously.
Essentially, this is a discouraging measure for people who can't control themselves.
Being active on the site will automatically unlock that section after a certain time.

[Edit] This measure was implemented only some time ago, so it may have locked out some people by accident as a side effect, but the same thing still applies.
Being an active posting member will eventually unlock that section after some time, same for the Trading Area where users can buy and sell stuff together.

Say if one needs to send a console to someone to do the BD service for the PS5, that would be under trading area, no?

I would say so, but at the end it is at the user's discretion if the communication is done elsewhere or in private, if that makes sense.
