It's not sad, it's melancholic.

I guess we don't know yet what does that mean for the future of atmosphere. Maybe we'll know next time it'll need an update.

In fact, this makes me excited for what's coming next. SciresM retiring isn't an event to be lamented, it's an opportunity to celebrate his immeasurable contribution.

A while back, things like Ryujinx and Yuzu were taken down and ended in a bad way. So maybe I'm over-reacting, but I'm genuinely happy that things end up in a good way with Atmosphere (if that's even the end) and SciresM.

@SciresM any word on if there is a possible person who is able to continue your beautiful legacy for us, I'm not well versed in updating atmosphere myself and or compiling the program :(

We'll have to wait and see when the next update will be and who will do it.

It's not just SciresM who maintained it...there's three others as well. check the credits on the github page. no need to think the project is dead or won't continue. it's also open source, so the code is there for anyone else to contribute.

Okay it does seem that SciresM did the vast majority of the code commits...and the other three people listed as maintainers haven't done much in the last few years. maybe they are/were working more behind the scenes. regardless, it's an open source project so there's nothing stopping others from stepping in to keep atmosphere going.

sphaira by lighthos is a fork? can't fins this version

i want to try this ,can this coexist with hb menu? isn't hb menu part of atmosphere?
I'm using the official version though I haven't tested it thoroughly (i.e. at all, just tested whether it boots/crashes or not). As for the hb menu, yeah, they can coexist. As a matter of fact I'm personally using sphaira instead of hb menu provided with Atmosphere.

ok giving it a shot . I downloaded from homebrew app store ( #1 download) or shall i got the one on github?
ah this thing can be started from hb menu right?

someone renamed it to hbmenu so it starts sphaira instead, but given it come witha mtosphere not sure it is a good idea.

I can't say that I've ever used homebrew app store, I usually just get the stuff I need from Github.

Yep.

I believe that's normal since, if you set sphaira as your default hb menu, it will rename the default hbmenu.nro to something else and sphaira to hbmenu.nro or something. I could be wrong, though, as I don't have my Switch on hand to test it out.

I have one request before @SciresM retires...

make a atmosphere 1.8.0 +

dispatch runs on 19.0.1 but, not without 1.9.5 (I installed on 1.8.0 but it just gives black screen, idk) ... and I like the mods too much

appreciated - stay golden

Games are starting to come out that require base OFW 21.2.0, what can we do to continue to play new releases past this point?
