With Recompilation/Decompilation projects getting more development https://decomp.dev/projects I think it's a good time to talk about the pros and cons of emulator vs decomp texture packs.
Decompilation
+All textures can be altered
+Uncapped FPS & significant performance boost
-Each game requires it's own modding tools to change textures making it harder to make packs for
-Audio needs fixing
Emulator
+Easy to make Texture packs*, no coding required
-Capped FPS, High resource usage
-Emulation imperfections to source code, some games textures can't be altered
*Most games dump properly, on rare occasions, games require lots of cleanup or even coding with symlinks.
I'm excited to try a decomp texture pack when Need for Speed most wanted is finished
