That does answer half of my question, but what about other system apps like settings, the dsi shop, etc.?iirc you can use GM9i to dump the actual titles from nand to and SD card and run them from there, I did that eons ago although it was tedious.

They're in the nand somewhere, exactly where I don't remember. I did try running the settings app or dsi shop once and from what I remember they ran basically identically to their standard counterparts outside of some issues here or there.That does answer half of my question, but what about other system apps like settings, the dsi shop, etc.?
You're using a DSi or a 3ds? Don't think it's supposed to work with the latter.when i open the PHOTO_HNIJ01_01.nds file i copied from sd:/gm9i/out i get an nds bootstrap screen saying "error has occured" also couldnt find the .pub file

Yes, you can dump the system apps by following this guide: https://dsi.cfw.guide/dsiware-backups.htmlDid anyone get a workaround for this??
I'm too running Twilight Menu ++ on my DSi, and I wish I could put some system apps on a folder like "ROMS" and such...
I'd really appreciate to have my; normal rom files, Flipnote Studio, DSi Camera and System Settings on the same Twilight Menu page
ohh, thank you so much, for this reply and for your hard work on the homebrew community!!Yes, you can dump the system apps by following this guide: https://dsi.cfw.guide/dsiware-backups.html

I've read about the dumping stuff, but wouldn't doing this be just basically using a .nds copy of that file/app? or is there a difference of doing it by dumping?
my sd card doesn't have much storage, and I didn't want to put more files on it
but stoping to think about it... mostly DS roms are very small in size, so I could still do that for aesthetics reasons
There's not really a difference.I still have this question tho, for example;
if I download a flipnote studio rom, what's the difference between the downloaded one and the my hardware made by dumping?
Remember to backup your DSi NAND first..Did anyone get a workaround for this??

I thought the 3DS Transfer Tool was the only downloadable content on the DSi ShopYou can still download the DSi browser from the DSi shop now.
These accounts that ask questions seem to be one-time use; they will never log in again and will never receive any follow-up results.
Previously downloaded(system pre-installed) or purchased content can be downloaded.I thought the 3DS Transfer Tool was the only downloadable content on the DSi Shop
