Developed by Sedleo and published by Dear Villagers, 1348 Ex Voto is a cinematic action-adventure game set in medieval Italy. It tells the story of Aeta (voiced by Alby Baldwin) during her brutal journey across the Italian Peninsula to find her closest one, Bianca (Jennifer English), after bandits have raided their village. The release date for the game was revealed, along with a new story trailer:

Journey through a tumultuous Medieval Italy as Aeta, a young knight errant who embarks on a brutal quest to find and save her closest one. When Bianca, a commoner and close friend of Aeta, prepares to enter a convent, her village is attacked by bandits, and Bianca is kidnapped. Aeta finds only her Ex Voto (a religious symbol) and vows to bring her back.

1348 Ex Voto is a historical fiction inspired by 14th-century Italy, the cradle of political strife and rural exodus. Bandits, mercenaries, and religious fanatics roam freely while the black plague spreads across the countryside and cities. Explore magnificent Italy, from the southern Apennines to the iconic Tuscan countryside. Each level allows players to discover believable medieval settings.

Features of 1348 Ex Voto include:
  • A brutal journey: face the harsh reality of medieval Italy through the eyes of a courageous noble whose life is about to change.
  • Immersive narrative: the narrative focuses on the characters, specifically on Aeta's personal challenges, with a meaningful and mature plot inspired by the classics of the genre and stories of chivalry.
  • Combat inspired by Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA): the combat system is designed to create duels that are believable and fun to play. Animated with the help of actors trained in motion capture and HEMA.
1348 Ex Voto will launch on PS5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on March 12.

Why, why in the world couldn't this have just been a normal story that doesn't involve a gay relationship? It just seems so fucking forced in the context of the time and place. I seriously would have played this if I wasn't forced to be an underage butch dyke in the damn 14th century.

Last edited by Paralel,
looks decent, kinda generic skyrim/witcher/unrealengineish but not bad. Medival setting can work, if it is like Monty Python. She kind of looks like Tilda Swinton as a teenage boy..

So tired of agenda games, and I'm even more tired of always getting a strong female lead, only to make her a Lesbian!
All strong women don't need to be gay, to be strong, for goodness sake!
And this game looks boring as hell too, even the combat looks 3 generations behind in every aspect.

So all the games showing men being violent and encouraging you to kill as many people as possible were not agenda games? Sorry, sweetie, but all games are agenda games. You just don't happen to like what's on the menu this time. And clowns like you DEMAND that ALL games be designed for YOU and ONLY YOU!!! It's selfish and, of course, childish. Some might even say "incel gamerboyish."

Please shut up with your bait non-sense! And I'm talking about the gay agenda, b.s.!
They'll learn when it flops, like all the other games that tried this b.s.

They did it with Ellie, but she's still one of my favorite characters! Because I just like TLOU story overall, and it didn't feel forced!

But even Max from Life is Strange, they tried to expand it, with the other games, including true colors, etc.
Just tired of it, all girls who have best friends, don't have to be lovers, it's annoying.

Only thing childish, is how you picked your target, because you thought I was a weak one, when nearly every comment in this thread quoted this shit before me.

Grow up little man, and stop trying to redirect the obvious!
No one said the game was designed only for me, blah, blah!
You're so hilarious with that ignorant comment, wasn't even relevant!

Move along child, and have a good day!

THIS is how you deal with someone like ChibiMofo. I love you.

I will not be touching whatever this is.

Knights Path seems a more interesting game when it comes to the medieval setting:

Aren't the Devs behind this meant to be massively homophobic or am I getting that confused with another of those medieval games?

EDIT: wathced the trailer to knights path and this looks super generic.

saying we’re focusing on fun is not homophobic

if you want representation make your own game. Imagine looking at medieval knight game but all you can think of is gay sex.

Hard to take that seriously when the linked game looks jank af.

Guess what brah, these Devs have done exactly that. Well done on reducing what looks to intended to be a love story in a insulting reductionist way.

Saying that LGBT people did exist in those times.

calm down and take a step back at the statement. “focusing on fun”

is the game gonna be more fun by adding representation? if the dev don’t think so then they don’t need to add it

“Saying that LGBT people did exist in those times.” this doesn’t matter at all and have zero relevance to the game since there’s a giant snail and dragon in the game

Video games can be artistic expression and this is clearly a narrative driven so the devs want to tell a lesbian knight story. Power to them. I'm not going to judge the quality of the game and how it is enjoyable it is until it is released. If the story and dynamics of the presumed two main characters is good than it will make the game "fun," for people.

NGL, no idea what the fuck you mean by the snail and dragon remark.
