Are you insinuating that there's an spy inside Nintendo and they've planted an exploit in the Switch 2?
Maybe not, but as you may already know, Nintendo can pay you if you find a major exploit in their console/software. If someone working at this department were to leak one of these exploit, telling to the right people "You should look that way", it's one way to "make the castle fall from within", even if they don't make use of the exploit themselves.

I mean someone from inside, for his/her own reasons will tell to devs/hackers something useful to begin with and can lead to jailbreak.

By the way, if someone were to put a switch 2 partially in their mouth, then cough it out, it would be hacked. That's super easy to do right now. Not that I would try it.

Apparently, they still didn't fix the MicroHax, which means that by putting it in your microwave for exactly 1m09s at power 6-7, it should come out completly hacked. Worked with Switch 1, worked with Wii U, worked with 3DS, worked with NDS, and still works with Switch 2

It is sad to see how much the Jailbreak and console homebrew communities have slowed down in this most recent generation... I think the glory days are long past us... devs are playin' for keeps these days... They see all the lost $$$ that half-assing security infrastructure got them, and really went balls out in these recent release cycles.. =\

That being said, i've barely touched my NS2 since i bought it, and still use my original switch on atmos all the time.. NS2 exclusives are like non-existentrn, and 90% of my switch library are NSP copies from tinfoil..
I'm hoping Nintendo gives me a reason to pick the NS2 back up soon. It really does have massive potential..even homebrew aside.

Hey, all --

I wanted to let you know that I'm planning on retiring from work in the public hacking scene.

Atmosphere (and my work on the Switch) have been an enormous labor of love for me for the past eight and a half years, and it's been an honor for me to dedicate so much of my life towards this kind of work.

That said, I am getting older. I find myself with less time to dedicate towards it, more responsibilities, and a changing personal life.

Particularly with my hoping to have kids in a foreseeable time horizon, I'm thinking I have to re-evaluate how much time I can spend on hobby projects.

I have the kind of personality that doesn't want to put in only a little work; I think that less-than-a-full retirement would likely lead to no actual changes in the time I put in.

I've truly appreciated getting to work with so many talented people (many of whom have been close friends for so many years), and I appreciate everyone's understanding as I try to transition to the next phase of my life.

With all my love,
SciresM

oh.
that's a bit sad, indeed, but okay, we'll respect his choice, especially if it's related to familly.
thanks @SciresM for what you did for the switch (1) dev scene !!

Late to the conversation, but any software is exploitable.
Of course, it just requires people with the knowledge and inclination to do so. Also, the group that do it will have to keep it quiet... it would be very difficult to resist sharing and taking credit for an exploit of that magnitude. Thats the hardest part IMO.

Sure. Most exploits just get reported to Nintendo's HackerOne program and immediately patched, though.

There are only a very few people who would take the risk of a Nintendo lawsuit over a fat cash stack from them.

Saw this yesterday as well.
This should make the front news imho.
@ShadowOne333 ? :ha:

Edit: Nevermind. It's already there despite having a creation date of "yesterday". Maybe it has been created yesterday but only made visible to the public today or I have cache issues with my browser. :D

Someone from the team did mention it, but it was posted already, you caught me asleep when the tag hit :P

Every system is hackable. it just needs the audience and the knowledge of people. there will always be that one or even few. if consoles like the leap pad explorer can be hacked, then so too can the switch 2, even it takes forever.

My NS2 is essentially just two games so far... Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.

Metroid Prime 4 doesn't count, it's an NS1 game.

The internal 256GB + 256GB Express SD will be plenty for me.

Prototype games have been released for switch 2 if you know where to find them, alot of stuff got dumped for Switch 2 already, i think you should do further research. the prototype games already got cheats for them, also switch 2 exploit is def on its way im sure if there already dumping prototype games from test kits then there will be a exploit eventually
