A few months ago I picked up a copy of Pokémon Sapphire at a game store in Quakertown, Pennsylvania and the previous owner's save file was left on it. If you are Heather, here's your save!

Cool thing about 4th gen (ds) is that you can see the actual date they started the save.

I own diamond, but my dad bought it for me from like gamestop when I was a kid so there was no save file on it when I got it.

I didn't want to just overwrite the cartridge without backing her game up first. In case she wants to keep playing.

Every time I buy a used game cartridge I also make a save file backup. Maybe in the future the original owner would want to continue their game.

While chances are slim she sees this, it is a nice thing to do. And hey, everything is possible.

A decade ago, I had to sell a game (Pokémon Puzzle League for N64), because I needed cash and had to get rid of my entire collection. Years later, I rebought the game on a random retro gaming website. the copy I got, was the exact game I sold prior years ago. It still had my save on it. You can name your save file, and when I did that years earlier, I made a typing error, so I knew it was mine.
