I don't know exactly when it started... But many games began to crash into the red screen about 20-30 seconds after launch. I have already deleted and reinstalled TWiLight Menu++ according to the instructions. It didn't help. DSi XL

Do you have a backup of your nand before modding?

That's bad, what if you boot to OFW and use a physical game cartridge could be just a bad sd card.
I'll try to use another SD card

UPDATE : I inserted the SD card that I bought the DSi from. Everything is working fine. I took another SD card (the third one). I copied the data from the old card to it (from which I bought it and on which the old version of TWLight++ is). I installed the update. And I turned on the DSi again. And again, the games fall into the red screen...What should I do?

Sounds like the SD card you're trying to use is dying.
Please follow this guide to reformat and check the SD card for errors: https://dsi.cfw.guide/sd-card-setup.html

I used a new SD, but it didn't help. The problem turned out to be in the ROMs files themselves. I deleted them. And copied it again from the old SD. And now everything is working fine.

I just did a new install of the latest release on DSi but after first boot up then loading pictochat I waited while some setup happened (creating, ram, etc) then console just seems to crash on a white top screen and black bottom screen. Not sure what to do as it is just supposed to work on DSi?

Try re-installing TWiLight Menu++.
Thanks Rob but this is after a clean install of the latest DSi release. If I try to load either pictochat/DL play inside TWL just crashes on white screen(s). This wasn’t working before so I tried to do a new install and left settings on default etc. I have DSi with unlaunch and SD redirection (forget the name of sdnand).

Where are DLPlay and Pictochat being launched? From the DS Classic Menu, or the usual menu with the games?
Also, do regular DS games work fine?

Launched from the DS Classic Menu and it’s the only issue I have noticed. No issues loading DS games (checked again after clean install of the latest release, Korg DS10, Pokemon White and Sight Training loaded no problems).

Using unlaunch and hiyaCFW (not updated recently).

v27.20.0
Includes nds-bootstrap v2.11.0 (GBATemp thread)

What's new?

  • Flashcard users: A third game loader option has been added! Pico Loader can now be used for fast boot times of DS games, along with improved compatibility over nds-bootstrap's B4DS mode (with a few incompatible games)!
    • Pico Loader can be downloaded here. Make sure to download the correct one for your flashcard, and place the .bin files in the _pico folder on the flashcard's SD root.
    • Due to the `Game Loader` setting getting a new name within settings.ini (FC_GAME_LOADER instead of USE_BOOTSTRAP), the default setting (nds-bootstrap) will be re-set after updating to this version.
  • @Lorenzooone: DSi-Enhanced/Exclusive game cards will now run in DSi mode on DSi & 3DS consoles!
    • If cheats (such as widescreen) are detected, the game will run in DS mode instead.

Bug fixes

  • Ported from melonDS, the save types for Puzzler World USA & Legacy of Ys: Books I & II have been fixed!
  • @Lorenzooone: Fixed some bugs when reading DS(i) game cards and/or flashcards.
  • @Pk11: Dictionary size of 16MB is now set within the 3DS-specific 7z file in order for Universal-Updater to properly update TWLMenu++ to this and future versions.
  • DSi-based UIs: Fixed positioning of the "Press B to return." text in the "Start failed. Error ?" screen.

Hi, I have a question. I’m playing Pokémon Black 2 in DSi Mode on a 3DS. When I check the in-game options, it shows the clock speed as 133 MHz, but the VRAM mode is listed as DS Mode. Does this mean that the game was originally designed to use DS Mode and not DSi Mode VRAM?

Yes, some games which run in DSi mode just use the DS VRAM mode.

Hi, sorry for asking here, but maybe you can give simple answer - what are the benefits of Pico Loader over original flashcard loader (r4isdhc.com.cn)?

There are some translation errors in the custom theme (DSi/3DS theme select) in Simplified Chinese hasn't been fixed yet.

You get near-instant boot speeds along with improved AP-patching, both of which flashcard kernel and nds-bootstrap do not have.
It'll also work on more flashcards such as the SuperCard MiniSD Slot-2 flashcard.

As for disadvantages, you cannot use cheats or exit the game via soft-reset.
As Pico Loader was just released last month, there are a few games which don't work (such as Diddy Kong Racing) and require either flashcard kernel or nds-bootstrap to boot, but compatibility will improve in later versions.

If you have more questions about Pico Loader, you can ask here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/dspico-an-open-source-flashcart-for-the-ds-i.677498/
