Capcom is looking to release new Mega Man, DmC, and Ace Attorney games going forward

Capcom has a variety of beloved franchises that haven't seen much in the way of new entries as of late. A financial report from Capcom looking back on 2025 shows that the company did well, due to the successes of new Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter titles. The higher-ups at the company, however, believe that Capcom needs to have more frequent entries into some of its more stagnant IPs in order to continue growing in the years ahead. Specifically, it looks like we'll be seeing remakes, new games, and ports of three series in the future: Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man. Capcom also plans to expand on one of its development offices by 2027, leading to hiring more employees to work on these theoretical games.

Capcom owns a wealth of globally popular brands, such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. We aim to expand our user base and improve our performance through new releases, remakes, and ports of titles in these series to new hardware. By enhancing brand power and cultivating loyal fan bases, we will grow these into core IPs.

I looked it up.
Megaman Battle Network is an alternate universe.
in the main series,Dr. Light studies in robots with independent thought, in the battle network/Starforce timeline he studies networking. So similar and different at the same time. Makes me interested in a Megaman Battle Network Legends though
What? No way its alternate! Really?
Thought the only alternates where the "whatever VS CAPCOM".

Edit: This guy might be onto something.

I was interested in the video, until I saw that it's eight hours long. Bloody h*ll, I'll just take the bulletpoints.

Sigma is funny.
X and Zero don't laugh.
Sigma infects everyone with SONIC.EXE

yes, the Battle Network/Starforce games take place in an alternative timeline. OG/X/Zero/ZX/Legends are all part of the same continuity.

It goes Robot Masters end up dying eventually, goes into the X timeline, Zero was SUPPOSED to get sealed at the end of X5, but Capcom wanted sequels, Zero wakes up after being sealed permanently by indirectly causing the elf wars, gets waken up by Ciel, Zero 1-4 takes place, he dies, and then Ciel makes the bio metals. Go into ZX, and thousands of years after the ZX series, comes Legends taking place in a wasteland of the past. It's rumored that Carbons are basically what Reploids and Humans became after the ZX series (basically Reploids were becoming more human-like, and Humans became more reploid-like)

Obviously I'm paraphrasing, skipping over the sigma virus, which plays into the X/Zero timelines, but that's kinda how it goes

Curious what Ace Attorney is going to look like going forward, I am expecting a new main character as the last trilogy seems to be closed, and going by past trends, they seem to like to switch out the main character regularly.

I guess they're never bringing Dino Crisis back. Oh well to me they got worse with each number first one was the best.

p.s. I'm now downloading Dino Crisis Rebirth which is an HD mod of the first one gonna check it out.

They should do a Mega Man Prime like Metroid Prime but with Mega Man. If done right that could be good.

But after the failed 3-D Mega Man games it is probably safer they just stick with 2-D Mega Man.

Ahh a reminder of what could have been with Maverick Hunter :(

Wow didn't realize they were actually going to do that, it was just an idea I had.
Yup, back in the early 2010s when Capcom was on a Mega Man cancellation spree, it was one of the many projects that could have been that got cancelled. So many potentially excellent projects only to be canned. Nowadays they just play it safe with continuing the mainline series, and I feel like they're missing out big time, especially with Legends.

The Metroid Primes were so good but before Metroid Prime 1 fans of the series were livid that they were going to make a first person Metroid game. But Retro showed good ones could be done I mean Metroid Prime 1 that came out in 2002 was so ahead of it's time I'm playing 4 now and I really don't even think it's a huge step up from 1 graphically a game that came out on the Gamecube.

Thanks for the link, I didn't even know a trailer was released for the project.

Whoa, whoa, hold up. They announced a game that's not coming out for over a year? On the plus side, the game definitely isn't going to be rushed*, like so many other entries in the series.

* For reference, Mega Man 7 was allegedly developed in three months.
