Nintendo Switch Online retro catalog games for December 2025 announced

For Christmas, it looks like Nintendo Switch Online subscribers are getting a present of two games added to the service's retro catalog. Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Tonic Trouble will be coming to the N64 lineup on December 17th. Since these are N64 games, you'll specifically need to be on the NSO's Expansion Pack tier if you want to play them.

Nintendo is so kind.

I wonder why other than Assassins Creed Black Flag Ubisoft hardly ever remakes games at all. Rayman 2 would be good on modern consoles, so would Splinter Cell series Prince of Persia Beyond Good & Evil. They'll re-release them but just ports never remakes. The first Driver game needs to be remade. About the only series that I don't care to see any remakes are Assassins Creed so of course they do one for that series only.

It's just human nature. Not every decision we make is smart.

They've been remaking Sands of Time....it's been 5 years since the announcement:

Frankly, I'd see a decompilation of R2 with enhancements to be more likely at this stage.

they are remaking the original spinter cell but it has been years and not even a trailer same for remake of prince of persia sands of time that at least had some screen shoots also beyond good and evil 2 has been on limbo for years and years...

Yeah that BG&E 2 is a bad idea at least imo it's some online only game. I don't see why they couldn't just make another single player one that's what fans of the series want. It may not ever come out anyway, what is up with Ubisoft announcing these games and never finishing them.

yet another way to play rayman 2? i mean, there ain't a game they could add in the world that'll make me buy the subscription, but at least it boosts the wikipedia page(there's like 12 different releases of rayman 2). maybe it'll make someone's day, who knows.

Well, pretty random as always and never what one would expect

But all in all, Rayman 2 is a solid game. Never ever played Tonic Trouble, and I'm a N64 mega Fan, so, don't know about that one. Character looks great, tho. I'm pretty flabbergasted that I never heard or saw it in all my extensive travel in the videogame world.
