How Do I Make My Unpatched Switch Auto-Boot Into Atmosphère With an RCM Loader?

Hello all!

I recently bought an unpatched Switch for my wife, and everything has been working great so far (even though it’s running Atmosphère 1.10.0 pre-release).

However, I’m trying to remember how I originally set things up on my old unpatched Switch. On that console, whenever it was powered off and I pressed the power button, nothing happened until I plugged in my RCM Loader. The moment the RCM Loader connected to the USB-C port, the console would automatically boot straight into Atmosphere, with no Jig, no power + volume buttons, and no PC needed. Just plug in the dongle and it boots.

I genuinely can’t remember what I did back then to make that possible, but I’d really like to replicate the same setup on the newly purchased Switch. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with AutoRCM, but I don’t want to mess anything up without confirming first.

Can anyone explain how to set this up again, or point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, I haven't used mine in about 7 or 8 years.

In fact I don't even have one.

Enabling AutoRCM just skips the need for the jig and button combo. The tradeoff is, if the console ever powers off, you can no longer turn it back on without injecting the payload. Once enabled, AutoRCM should stick, unless you boot completely stock and update OFW the official way.

All that would get you autobooting into Hekate. You'd need to set autoboot in Hekate config file as well, to have it load one of the Atmosphere entries automatically.

you'd still have to if you turn it off. restarts wont need a dongle, let alone a jig (autorcm)


purpose of the jig is to boot into rcm mode - it does not push payloads
you still need a dongle to push payloads - and you need to be in rcm mode to push payloads

unless you get yours hardmodded
