ha ha ha, you can use Goldleaf, sphaira or boot into safe mode to remove downloaded and temporal upgrade files.

Forgot I had a Switch Lite. I installed Sphaira, so where do I go to see and delete these temporal upgrade files?

Just updated hekate and then stock to 21.0 so the kids could play stock games.
I didnt know this would affect cfw. Keep getting failed to match warmboot with fuses etc when booting cfw.
I have updated syspatch to 1.5.7 etc with no luck.

Any ideas or do I have to wait until atmosphere is updated?
If you can ignore that error message and still boot into CFW (which I assume you would be using with an emuMMC), then you should still be able to use it just fine, the only caveat is that you won't be able to put your console into sleep mode (if you do, it will crash). So I recommend shutting it down completely whenever you are done using it for the time being.

Hi, if I updated to 21. Can I still access OFW? I want to play some online game and don't have any need for CFW at the moment.

Why aren't you guys blocking updates....
Some users around here use their Switches to play both legally acquired games on their clean sysNAND and "backups" on their CFW emuNAND. Therefore, triggering the update is sometimes unavoidable unless you're really, really careful. The best thing you could do is if get the update nag, turn off the Internet connection, go into maintenance mode or similar, remove the pending update and wait for the Atmosphere to get updated. Or use two Switch consoles, one for legally acquired stuff and one for backups. That's what I do.

Hello, if you update OFW to version 21, you can continue playing there legally.
However, CFW will be broken; you will keep it, but you will not be able to use it properly.

If you play on eMMC/sysNAND you normally wouldn't do that unless you are already banned, otherwise it would defeat the point of using CFW in it. On emuNAND everyone has it blocked by default, unless some madlad go out of their way to unblock them, which would most likely result in a ban anyway.

Does updating OFW to 21 break CFW even on EmuMMC? Or does it only break CFW on SysMMC?
This is what will happen:

  • If you update OFW to 21, you will be able to continue using OFW, but if you use CFW SysMMC, an error screen will appear, forcing you to return to OFW.
  • If you update OFW to 21 and keep CFW EmuMMC at 20, CFW EmuMMC will start with a warning indicating that sleep mode will not work and will crash if you do so.
  • If you update OFW to 21 and CFW EmuMMC to 21, you will not be able to access CFW anywhere.

  • If you update OFW to 21 and keep CFW EmuMMC at 20, CFW EmuMMC will start with a warning indicating that sleep mode will not work and will crash if you do so.
Thank you for the info. I have never experienced the above scenario. Is that so both for modchips and if using a RCM loader?

Depends on what you do. I've been playing on my emuNAND since 2021 with unblocked DNS, but I don't pirate any games or play any emulators on it. I only backup and dump my save game on my PC and rip my game cards, updates on DLC for the day that Switch emulators can pretty much play everything.

I'm pretty sure that's because telemetry logs are not being sent, which I assume is what atmosphere blocks by default with dns.mitm.

Not sure if I'm misreading, but t looks like you are contradicting yourself.
When I said "unless some madlad go out of their way to unblock them", I was referring to the redirects dns.mitm does by default, which blocks telemetry logs from being sent to Nintendo.

I checked it on the repo I linked, and it is indeed the default behavior.

Does blocking telemetry also block game and firmware updates?

No. But the 90DNS tester has a list of additional domains you can block with dns.mitm if you want, which should block updates as well. But realistically I would only recommend doing that on emuMMC, on sysNAND it kinda defeats the purpose as I mentioned (unless you are banned, of course) as doing that would also prevent you from using any Switch online services, including online play. Blocking telemetry logs from being sent to Nintendo is enough from my experience.

I updated ofw to 21 and have no trouble entering/leaving sleep mode on emummc 20.4 with latest atmosphere.
I don't know if it's because my unit is Erista or what, but no sleep trouble for me
