Are you interested in a complete replacement of TwlBg which includes all patches?

You know what would be really great? If the comparison images in TWL Patch included a pixel art game in addition to SM64 and also an option to compare scaling to DS native resolution. I don't really care how it stacks up to Nintendo's default; I really only care how it stacks up to native. And I'm going CRAZY trying to figure out which filter is an improvement on N3DS XL. I think it's different depending on the game, but this option would help people from opening a million threads asking "which is best." I literally can't decide.

Yeah. I should've added a proper image loader ages ago, instead of the double- backwards-lz rubbish I have now.

I'll add this to the infinite list of things to do.

Sadly can't pump out a build real quick, I've *really* messed up Redshift patching, it crashes upon patching, and I don't know why. I have to fix that first.

For comparing native resolution, hover Nintendo default, and hold X.
For changing the default image, X+DPAD, but there is only SM64...

I'm an internet rando who's all demand, no skill, so you're fine 😅

That seems to show the default scaling. I'm talking about being able to compare to native DS resolution (small screen). It would help to see which filter gets the test images the closest to the DS default clarity.

Obviously you know your needs better than anyone but I can tell you from experience I just set the unstart patch and that was what I was happiest with.

Having options is nice but you won't get better than native.

It should do it though... but only while specifically hovering over Nintendo default and holding X. If it doesn't do that, it means I've broken it.

I just did and it still doesn't seem to work. After step 15 on that page, do I need to do anything with the TwlBg.cxi with rtcom? It does seem like the widescreen patch worked, but the gyro doesn't seem to work at all
No, you don't. Just leave it in "sd:/luma/sysmodules/".

It still doesn't work, does this mean the gyro chip in my 3ds just isn't supported?
I don't see why it wouldn't be (assuming the gyro chips within the consoles are the same).
Did you download the gyro build of GBARunner2? If so, where did you download it?

I did download the gyro build, from the gyro link at this page: https://wiki.ds-homebrew.com/gbarunner2/builds, specifically GBARunner2_arm7dldi_3ds.nds. Should I try the DS or DSi build?

No, the 3DS build is the one to use.
If you've already tried launching it directly with TWLMenu++, I have no idea why gyro isn't working for you.
I tried launching GBARunner2 from the menu then the game from there and it didn't work. When I tried launching the game directly it seemed that I didn't have the gyro build installed, so once I installed that and tried launching the game directly it gave GBARunner2 on the rom selection list (I had to choose the game manually from there) and instead of launching the game with the gyro not working, it freezes on a black screen that I can't get out of without exiting to the 3DS menu

any updates on gyro support? tried warioware twisted on my o3ds xl and it didn't work with gbarunner2 or 3 but i might just be stupid lol

I didn't implement old3DS gyro, so it will not work.
It's quite a bit more complex than the rest, it was too difficult at the time to reverse-engineer.

Ah, ok. Are there plans to implement it?

I'd have to coordinate a new release with Gericom, not sure if the current codebase could support gyro or not.
But I certainly couldn't create the driver myself in a timely manner, I'm already bogged down with a list of things I have to do, and my health is not helping with any of that. If I do end up catching up, it will be months or years.

Is there a way to see what settings i last used so when I go to tweak something different I know what my base “good” values are?

Nope, sorry! The values are intentionally not stored. You have to write down your settings, if you want to keep them.

Hi, it seems I’ve found a bug in the TW Patch. I changed the color of NDS games on my 3DS using the Redshift feature. When I launch an NDS game, the color follows the adjustments I made in Redshift. However, when I close and reopen the 3DS lid, the color goes back to the normal setting. It only returns to the Redshift color settings after restarting the game.

I’ve tested this on some of my NDS games, and the results are always the same, whether I boot them through a flashcart or via Twilight Menu++ with nds-bootstrap. I’ve also tried every version of TWL Patch, from the oldest to the latest, and the result remains the same. I even tried deleting the TWL files in the sysmodule, but that didn’t seem to have any effect.

By the way, the Redshift feature works perfectly fine with GBA games, even after closing and reopening the 3DS lid.

My 3DS specs:
  • Model: Old 3DS
  • Luma3DS version: v13.3.3
