Another delay has come for Grand Theft Auto VI. Originally slated for release sometime in 2025, it was eventually pushed back to May 2026, and now, has been further kicked down the road to its new release date of November 19, 2026. Rockstar Games cites needing some extra time to polish up the game as the reason behind the delay.

Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.

I am not making any real accusations against Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive when I say this, but I partially feel as though this game doesn't actually exist and this has become some kind of Ponzi scheme

Maybe it did at the start, until they realized they could keep repackaging GTA V for new platforms until the end of time and don't need to spend the R&D on a new game, so they'll keep "delaying" it so investors and public interest don't fade. That would be incredibly sad, given how groundbreaking GTA V is. There's never been an MMORPG quite like it and the fact that it still holds up nicely today says a lot, so you can only imagine how incredible a sequel would be.

This probably isn't the case, but you have to wonder what's going on at this point.

Honesty GTA Online has been the worst thing to happen to GTA.

If it had failed we would have got GTA 6 ages ago.

Instead we literally had GTA 5 for three console generations with slight graphical upgrades and no DLCs.

If they released a broken mess like Cyberpunk we'd all be complaining, so I’m happy for them to take their time (as much as it is becoming a joke at this point).

I am however unhappy its console only at launch though. So realistically its 2028 for PC gamers at the earliest, presuming it doesn't get delayed again.

I don't think it's a bugs issue, they are probably working extra time on the online mode, to keep people playing the game, after the story mode is done.
It's probably going to be a short story and they'll focus on the online modes to keep it as a cash cow, like they did GTA V.

It's quite fascinating that estimating releases are that tough, even after decades in the business all they do is guesstimate. And poorly too.

Personally I don't care, played 5 long enough to see they went back to the old way to escape the cops (I really thought it was going to be like in China Town Wars from there on) and shut it off. RDR3 when?
