Fallout 4 is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2

Bethesda loves porting games, and they will continue to do so, by bringing Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition to the Nintendo Switch 2. This version of the game will contain Fallout 4's six expansion DLCs along with over 150 Creation Club items. No specific release date was given, other than a 2026 timeframe.

The definitive edition of Fallout 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. It’s been ten years since players first stepped out of Vault 111 and into the post-nuclear world. To mark the occasion, Bethesda Game Studios is thrilled to announce Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition. This is the ultimate celebration of a beloved classic, bringing together the complete Fallout 4 experience on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Look at that. This one has the front perspective.
Actually, come to think of it. 150+ Creation Club content. I wonder if they'll give the cached cc content in the data folder that ships with the pc and ps4 games for free this time.

Worth getting as someone who has never played a Fallout game before?

I don't know I can't get into the Fallout games they seem cool but I just don't get very far into them same for Elder Scrolls games not saying they're bad though they just don't hold my interest.

Same question. The TV show is the only toe I've dipped in this pool.

It's a uhhhh... hard question. First of all you gotta take in mind that one of the core aspects of Fallout games is their writing. They are for the most part satirical games that can also get very political at times

Fallout 4 is definitely the most different Fallout of all the main series. This is specially important regarding the RPG system

Every game before Fallout 4 follows a points system for skill (from 1-100) and a perk system every certain amount of levels that can give you special skills or advantages (more damage to X type of enemy, better critical chance on X factor, etc etc).

This has been tradition since the first Fallout. Fallout 4 really just has a general skill leveling system

On the other side of the coin, New Vegas and Fallout 3 are becoming old at this point (around 15 years old already) and require a lot of modding to work. They are really starting to show their age. There is also the matter that they are.. basically the same game? Fallout 3 and New Vegas were developed at the same time, sharing the same core from engine to gameplay to assets, to the point you can mod them to work together like a singular game.

Having said so, I personally (Like many) hold New Vegas in a special place on my heart as it's the most direct sequel to Fallout 2, (story-wise at the very least), made by Obsidian instead of Bethesda.

If you want to play a fun shooter with a coat of paint of "Fallout", then Fallout 4 is fine enough

If you want to know Fallout as it was intended to be, I would take New Vegas every day of the week, even if it takes some time modding. Writing is solid and gameplay is very fun. You can also gamble lol

nah I'd stick to the pre next gen pc version of skyeim and F4 (if you know you know) even since that update came out screwed over a lot of mods including the "unofficial" DLC fall out london

A 10 year old game, if you havent played it by now, then there's a reason..... it never gained your attention.

But even if it were, you don't buy a new console to finally get to play games from past decade.

You COULD buy it for far less than it would to buy a sh1tendo Switch 1.5 plus the game.

Its not even been a year yet and its already showing its lacking titles as even nintendo couldn't be arsed to give it its own first party titles a launch title.... still recycling that shit zelda game off the WiiU and its DLC addon pack crapped out as a new title....

To think Nintendo havent even given us a proper new Zelda title since what Skyward Sword.
