After so long, I finally got a V1 Switch. Now I wanna jailbreak it, but here's what's going on:
1. I only have a 64-gigabyte micro SD card.
2. I have NO RCM Jig.
3. My main laptop is running Linux Mint.
and 4. The left Joy-Con is having a case of the "drift."
What can I do to jailbreak my V1 Switch, even with these conditions?
1. thats enough!!
2. you may grab a paper clip or a piece of tinfoil, but please order a rcm jig, way less risky and they arent expensive anyway! (actually theres a huge risk you will break your console using something else than a jig)
3. ns-usbloader is the way to go!
4. pretty sure that doesnt mean anything, you use the touch screen to control hekate so its fine for the process

Can I set up AutoRCM whilst setting up the SD for the initial boot into Hekate or something? Also, forgot to mention this: I'm running Firmware 20.1.0.

Forgot to mention this, everyone.
1. I'm running firmware version 20.1.0.
and 2. I did not link my Nintendo account to the device. So, do I still have to disable 'Automatic Save Data Cloud', and do I still have to make sure that the Switch is 'set as the primary Pass-Enabled console'?

no, but you need to use ns-usbloader each time you want to launch the console which does get tiring after some time.
but if its not an issue to you then feel free to turn it on!!

Alright, it's been a bit, but I finally got Homebrew installed. But I need some help.
1. I didn't install any games or software before starting the process. Apparently, it's not a good idea to use the album to launch the Homebrew menu because "it has several limitations, including but not limited to: a smaller amount of available memory (RAM), as well as being unable to launch a full-featured web browser." Will I be fine with just the album? Or do I HAVE to install something?
2. As the website said, I have to redo the RCM and injection process every time the Switch loses power (i.e, loss of battery, shutdown). Will the CFW still be available if the Switch merely enters Sleep Mode (as when lightly pressing the Off button to suspend the system)?
3. I used the sysCFW method, primarily because I have an SD card that's only 64 gigabytes in size. Will I still be able to get the full modded Switch experience (such as installing ROMs of Switch games, using Homebrew apps and game ports, and custom themes)?
4. What if I'm installing pirated games, but I have a low amount of storage left on the SD card? Can I just install the games onto the Switch's internal storage? Or will doing that brick it?
And 5. Can I connect a PS4 controller to my Switch since my Joy-Cons are drifting at the moment?

The only way to fix the drift is to remove the old analog stick and install a hall switch one. Beware of the cheap ones on Aliexpress I had some of them that worked only for a while before they broke.
Only if you want to run any homebrew that does not work in Applet Mode. Even so, you could also run homebrew in Title Override Mode using a physical cart, instead of an installed title, but that might depend on OFW/CFW versions and a config setting named "nogc".
Yes, as long as the battery lasts. If you enable AutoRCM in Hekate, when it powers off completely, you can skip the jig, but you will need to inject a payload via USB to power it back on every time.
Not recommended. If you do this, you will be sharing the sysMMC with OFW, which means you risk a ban if you do anything debatable. Get a larger microSD card, and/or create a smaller emuMMC (9 GB or so should be enough).
See 3. above, if you install anything outside the eShop while running sysCFW, whether to internal memory or microSD, you will make sysMMC dirty and risk a ban. Hopefully you made a backup first of all...

Then you're in effect banning yourself. Like a banned console, it won't need to boot OFW at all, and you can use sysCFW without worrying too much about questions 3 and 4.
But I'd keep a backup somewhere safe, just in case. One reason to have emuMMC, even on a banned console, is that it's easier to swap the SD than to fix a corrupt NAND.

I recommend you..
1. Use AutoRCM. Its much more convenient. Without it you'll need a jig everytime you lose power or what not. You'll still need to use a separate device to push the payload anyway even without AutoRCM.
2. Get a BIG SD. You'll wind up with a big library so do it right. Small SD will mean a lot of deleting and installing to swap games. More wear and tear not to mention time lost.
3. Do go online. Once set up correctly you'll be able to go in to OFW too Safely. You could play legit titles online. I bought cartridges so i can sell them if i fuck up and get banned, even though that would be difficult to do nowadays, old habits.. Fortnite, SSBB and such are a blast online.
4. Get a RCM loader. $25 or so and its a quick on the go solution. I myself have several. My Dragon Injector fits in the cart slot. You can use an OTG cable and a Phone too.
5. .I personally would also install Linux and Android at this point. Best GC\Wii emulation and its fun! Much easier to do when your setting up your new SD.
Nothing. The naysayers say you can't turn the console on without a payload injector but you need one for CFW anyway. Also, technically its a brick, it's an easily reversible brick. It's the smart way IMHO.
