Anyone else who's tired of this being a thing in modern [read: indie] games?
It's because most of the games being made these days are made by Redditors.Anyone else who's tired of this being a thing in modern [read: indie] games?

Indie devs don't know this.reddit has humour?
What do you think why I'm asking here? I'm not going to do your own goddamn work in order to answer your own goddamn question. So let me rephrase it: What do you think is Reddit humor and how do you see it reflected in videogames?1. Go to reddit.com.
It's too complex for a non-RedditorWhat do you think why I'm asking here? I'm not going to do your own goddamn work in order to answer your own goddamn question. So let me rephrase it: What do you think is Reddit humor and how do you see it reflected in videogames?
Edit: Found this^My attempt at describing the cesspool worse than 4chan and it's "humor".
This may be true, but if it's so rampant in video games, I might be able to work with the name of a game that takes it to the extreme. It's too complex for a non-Redditor![]()
The Stanley Parable has some, yes. This may be true, but if it's so rampant in video games, I might be able to work with the name of a game that takes it to the extreme.
Also, it's not like I haven't visited Reddit a few times. But not enough to recognize a certain style of humor if it hits me in the face, apparently. Though, I might just need a little hint to connect the dots.
Is The Stanley Parable Reddit humor or is that just plain British humor?
Undertale?
Goat Simulator?
Please don't say Fortnite. That wouldn't help me at all... Also, it's not an indie game.
none of those seem like they have reddit humour, and the john zelda one sounds more like a twitch humour kind of thingThe Stanley Parable has some, yes.
Undertale also does, but less than TSP.
Haven't heard of Goat Simulator before but yes, it does sound like it'd have Reddit humor.
I can't remember which game exactly, but I remember a popular indie I played said something like "Thank you, John Zelda" and I almost ragequit, lol.
Never been on Twitch so I can't say.none of those seem like they have reddit humour, and the john zelda one sounds more like a twitch humour kind of thing
maybe? but that's more falling into including a lot of modern slang which is a cross of humour and just the wa ypeople talkNever been on Twitch so I can't say.
I guess I should've called it zoomer humor instead?
Guess I'm just an old coot, lol.maybe? but that's more falling into including a lot of modern slang which is a cross of humour and just the wa ypeople talk
nah that's just peak internet culture at the time, it was everywhere not just reddit, i even heard those phrases frequently in real life and on youtubeWould it be an unpopular opinion to say Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has "reddit humor?"
If I recall correctly, the script frequently used the term "meme," and even the colonel says, "For The Win." (If I recall even more correctly, it shows as "FTW" in the subtitles.)
Both of those were just starting to become popular, when the game released.
Undertale also does, but less than TSP.
I suppose you're right. My Reddit activity has been minimal for a long time, so I wouldn't know what came from Reddit vs. somewhere else on the internet.nah that's just peak internet culture at the time, it was everywhere not just reddit, i even heard those phrases frequently in real life and on youtube
